Hey y’all 😊👋🏽 Just in case anyone is curious to how my hair was before texturizing while wet, I added a link in my description to a prior video that shows it. In this video my hair was blow dried (stretched) prior to adding the texturizing. Hope this helps!💕

Candi Lea you’re completely missing the whole point. We all know being natural takes a lot more work, especially depending on the texture. It’s not about liking it, it’s about maintaining your hair and doing what works for you and your lifestyle. I love my natural hair, but it’s just frustrating and hard to deal with. I don’t want to go back to perms so I use a texturizer to make it more manageable whether it’s in its natural state or straightened

Thank you for sharing your video. I’m actually considering texturizing my natural hair. I’ve been natural for 4 years and I can’t seem to get the tangling and breakage under control. At this point I can’t do much with it so it’s either texturizing or cutting it all off again. Definitely want to give the texturizing a go and if it doesn’t work then I’ll just chop it off. I’m ready for a change.
@Newchapter-ui2gr Жыл бұрын
I watched one video saying not to do that before it won’t texture your hair in a curly state. My thought was blown out hair is not permanent and the texturizer will break the thr curl at the molecuee level. So it really doesn’t matter. Then your video came up on my feed. I like how your results came out. I too have way too much shrinkage, wash n goes and twist, and twist outs comes out horrible. This will give me more versatility. And to be honest, no one has to justify why they’re going back to relaxers or texturizer. This is your hair not theirs.

I created a new hair category of 5 for myself. I have multiple strands of hair per follicle, they twist tightly on each other which prevents me from being able to ever comb through it. When dry or several days after flat ironing, my hair swells to 3 times the size. Needless to say, I am over it. So I may be doing this soon. so you only texturized the top of your hair? I'm going back and forth about texturizing but everyone keeps telling me I have such a manageable texture (3c/4a) but I honestly miss my texlaxed hair (had it unintentionally texlaxed all through h.s and college) and my hair was so long, and shiny and since I've been natural (probably around 7 years now) it is dry, breaks off, and just ends up in a puff 6/7 days a week. I'm just worried that with an already looser texture my hair will end up straight and I definitely do not want that!

Does a texturizer damage hair?
@user-zx5xw4yw2e4 жыл бұрын
It's a relaxer. A texturizer and a relaxer is the *SAME*. Same chemical. The company markets it as either a 'relaxer' or a 'texturizer'. (How straight or loose your curls get has to do with how it's smoothed and applied.)
@dajaunadacres83542 жыл бұрын
Now natural for 10 years. Texturizing in the next 2 days. Im broke. My arms are tired. It aint worth it anymore.

How long do you leave it in before you wash it out?. I recent went natural and chopped all my relaxed ends off and I wanna try this method but I’m scared it’s just gonna straighten my hair again
@LifewithQuanda4 жыл бұрын
About 5-7 mins WITHOUT combing through. I can’t promise anything but mine has never gone completely straight unles your natural hair is already straight

Take it from me. Wheeew Tlaxers have been the thing for me when the natural just wouldn’t do right. It grows thick before it grows long and the shrinkage in this Texas weather is crazy. Do you love, your hair looks fabulous. I agree why go natural if you can’t enjoy it.

Hey hun how long do you leave the texturizer on your hair for ? Xx
@cedrahill77435 ай бұрын
I know this is an older video & im late to the game but hopefully you'll respond lol I saw your comment to someone saying you didn't do the ends because you relaxed in the past, how long ago is the past? Lol I've been natural for 15 yrs, i keep seeing folks only do their roots but I'd hate to have 2 different textures so i think maybe im considered virgin hair right? Lol
@LifewithQuanda3 ай бұрын
Hey! Within a year. It usually takes a while for it to full grow out. If you’ve been natural 15 year then it would definitely be like a first time for you. Some people also probably only add it to their roots if their roots are more tightly curled. For example someone might have tight curly roots but their ends are waves so essentially adding just to the roots would make the textures match more. Hope this helps!

Can I blow dry my hair after washing out the texturizer? I notice that most people keep their hair damp and add the gel and sprays. I don't want mine curly, I just want it loosened and more manageable

Does it stay in this curly state all the time even before applying any styling aid to it Thanks for sharing My prayer problem is mine only stays like yours naturally with using a lot of styling creams gels etc but after a day or two it’s dry and kinky although it curly like yours Thanks
@LifewithQuanda2 жыл бұрын
Yes! My hair was already curly. This just loosens up your curls to make it more manageable!

Ok cool sounds great ! Mine is super curly too but once I put any styling aide it stays dry as if I put nothing in it all all ! Anyway thx for sharing happy resurrection day !

@@Kingjamesbible161 I’d definitely say the curlier the hair the dryer it may be😬Deep conditioning and moisturizing your ends is definitely key! Especially if adding a texturizer , it tends to dry it out more. For me Texturing makes my hair more manageable for me to properly detangle, deep condition and moisture. What products are you using?! It may be the products drying it out especially if they contain alcohol. Happy Ressurection Sunday to you too!!✨🤍

How often do you do touch ups? and how long did you leave the relaxer in for?

There’s no certain time frame that I do touch ups, mostly just whenever I see fit. Sometimes 5-6 months and sometimes longer than that. I kept it on around 5-7 minutes, including application time
