Can you add navigation later on? If not, it's a bit mean of Toyota to leave the navigation button on the sat nav and that message basically saying "Sorry, you shouldn't have been a cheap-ass!"

It will charge itself using the petrol so you don't have to charge it ... ever.

The rear fog light is only on the driver's side. The left side is not the fog light, it's the reverse light.

What are the batteries like in these? Thinking of getting one of these second hand. Wouldn't want the battery to be worn out.

This movie is a bit out of date; there were quite a few tweaks in 2017 (I have a 2017/67 plate model), but it popped up around October 2019. Both batteries are under the back seat. The traction one is around 900 Wh, 144 V dc NiMH (quite a baby, really), and so is the 12 V dc aux battery LeadAcid deep discharge/no water top up type, with the petrol tank (~36l) in between. No liquid cooling for the NiMH pack - air cooled with a ventilation intake under the seat. My main criticism re. the battery is that it’s a bit small, although good around town. Sometimes on falling gradients it’s essential to use engine braking (‘B’ mode) to avoid fully charging the battery (when there’s no regenerative braking and unwanted friction braking etc.) I think in a future model they will switch to Li ion type, with higher capacity.

Same in New Zealand, you always get the 1.3 engine and a 4 speed auto but if you go for the base model you can get a 5 speed manual. The only Toyota hybrids you can buy here are the Prius and the Camry hybrid.
