Hi. Yes, but you have to ignore the darts on the front and straighten the sides. As for the legs taper them as you require. Basically it should be boxier. Pleats will do the shaping when sewing. This has a more feminine silhouette.

Hi Alex Marie. Made a sloper for my mum. Pared back the thigh and inner seams as she has a very small bottom. 2nd sloper fits better but now I want to add princess seams on hopefully my final sloper. The thing is I've noticed the front pattern is now wider than the back. Is this an error on my part? Or am I overthinking it? I'm a newbie to sewing but doing OK.

Hi. That's great to hear. I'll suggest that you just do a live fit test and adjust by eye at this point. What matters is how it fits on her body, and if that means a bigger front, then so be it. Traditionally, the legs of the back need to be wider to accommodate the larger muscles. But this doesn't matter from the waist to the crotch level. Happy sewing!

Hi Alex. When I finish sewing my pants pattern, why does the bottom of the pants don’t line up where the hem is at the bottom ? I did not hem them yet. because the line is not even
