@@moonpower8 Lydia is a character that was added in the shows. Per orders of the Clave she takes temporary control of the Institute. Alec decides to marry her to regain his family's honor (basically a political marriage), but Magnus barges into the wedding and the two kiss so Alec and Lydia never marry. Lidya was actually ok with this; she tells Alec herself that he deserves to be happy. Whether Lydia is a nice character or no is up to your opinion; I personally like her.

After the "one year later" part I was like "hold on a second is that the last episode?" pauses "omg this really is the last episode but how". I mean some fights against Valentine were feeling more final episode than the part with Jonathan. I enjoyed the show and actually was laughing sometimes and was on the verge of tears other times but the ending left me... just emotionally neutral. Such a pity they were rushed.

Okay so as a person who has read all the books, I see this show kinda differently from the way Alex looks at it. I mean when Alex said that this is moving really fast and a lot of stuff happens in just 2 episodes and I agree. I think that's the issue when people want to make books into a tv series. I absolutely LOVE this show. It is really confusing at the beginning, I'll give you that. It makes a lot more sense if you read the books. I get that not everyone is going to do that, but if you like the show but want to understand it more, read the books. The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare. The first one is called City of Bones. They're awesome fantasy books.

I think the issue with it though is it's a book originally. And thus suffers from what most movies or shows do based on books. They try to crame the most information into each episode incase they're cancelled than to lay it out in an organic manner.

The best part of your videos (besides how adorable little alex is) is that you have characters of varying ethnicities represented as both the regular people characters in your imagined skits and the characters within the shows when you animate them. Idk if it is intentional for the sake of representation or just kind of happened but I enjoy it. Especially when you draw small people, they are so cute.

Isabelle was only attracted to Simon after he became a vampire, because she enjoyed dating guys her parents didn't approve of. She started to actually fall in love with him after they started dating.

TableWrens there was a plagiarism scandal ages ago because Cassandra Clare (known then as Cassandra Claire) plagiarised from some popular and less popular books and tv shows whilst writing a Harry Potter fan fiction. I get the first season thing isn't worth it, but some shows really do get better after the first episode. To have a great first episode is important, but just because the first episode wasn't good doesn't make it impossible to have a good show. Honestly I don't like the show... Like the book? I love them! I love The Mortal Instruments, The Infernal Devices, The Bane Chronicles, Tales of The Shadowhunter Academy, but the show is just not for me. It's not just that they change a lot, it's just it's not for me. It's something about translating it into a screen seems to be getting hard for people. The movie wasn't great and the show isn't either, but I love what they're trying to do even if it doesn't work for me... That is all
