the reason why the show ended was because it was hard keeping the ORIGINAL cast together. one of the directors said he would like to make a movie on what happened after the exploration but the cast are already old to be teenagers so igz they’ll use new actor’s.

my favorite Disney show in my opinion, it was cringey but when I rewatch it I still enjoy it. and they actually look like teenagers, not 16 year olds that look like they’re 24. the past two weeks I watched the two seasons of this show, and it made me remember a lot of memories I didn’t know I had from when I was younger. i enjoyed rewatching it, but I felt aggravated again because we never found out what happened at the end of season two. I also used to think Erica was super cool, but now her character makes me angry. I also remember thinking Benny was the cutest character ever, but now that I watch it I lean towards Ethan’s side, lol! but the show is cringey in a good way

tbf even he probably doesn't know. apparently the resolution to the cliffhanger was never fully written because they weren't sure if all the cast could appear for season 3 and Disney was apparently not happy with the darker tone of season 2 so put Fresh TV under a lot of pressure to dumb down the show or cancel it.
