Ironically, the fact that this is Disney’s most “normal” sitcom is what makes it stand out. Every other sitcom has to have some magical-fantasy-unrealistic bullshit attached, like….. Jessie: A normal girl trying to start up an acting career, BUT she’s also the nanny for famous millionaires and their kids that they never spend time with. Hannah Montana: A normal girl trying to navigate normal teen life, BUT she’s also secretly a world famous pop star. The Suite Life of Zack and Cody: The random day-to-day adventures of twin boys, BUT they also live in a super ritzy hotel and one of their friends is the ditzy heiress. That’s So Raven: Standard teen girl living her life, BUT she’s also psychic for some reason. Lab Rats: Kid and his step-siblings living life, BUT the step-siblings are bionic super teens and no one will question the ethics of their father keeping said super teens confined to a basement for most of their lives. Liv and Maddie: Twin sisters just living life, BUT one of them is a famous TV star who eventually goes back to the acting scene. Wizards of Waverly Place: Standard family stuff, BUT the three kids are wizards and their ex-wizard father is training them for a test that will eventually have to take that will only allow one of them to keep their powers. Also, there are other creatures roaming around, and their uncle is Shakira. There always has to be some crazy add-on.

I rewatched this whole show last year, and what makes it so enjoyable for me is the dynamic between the family. You can tell these actors loved working with each other and really did feel like their costars were their family. And it's also refreshing to hear there was never really any drama between the main cast during/after the show's run, like there was with Miley and Emily, or Zendaya and Bella, or Debby and Skai. This show is definitely a fun watch, my mom even loved watching it, and she doesn't even like Disney Channel shows!

Exactly, u saying that reminds me of how pissed off I get when ppl talk about PJ specifically being the exact same as Newt from Cory In the House, when honestly,, NO HE'S NOT. Yes both characters r played by Jason Dolley, yes they both play guitar and r not smart but PJ's level of stupidity is acceptable and much easier to swallow, he's not a full-blown idiot like Newt. He still has moments of being smart and u can tell he tries to be responsible even tho he fails a lot, unlike Newt who is astronomically idiotic

I once joked that Good Luck Charlie was generation Z's Full House and the more I rewatch certain episodes the more I realize I wasn't joking. It's a nice simple show on a channel saturated with some kind of twist like "Oh they're a wizard/popstar/etc." but this was just a show anyone could jump in on and appreciate it, whether you were the target age demographic or not and a lot of the episodes were geniunely well written and down to earth. The best part of the show for me was PJ’s arc. At the beginning of the show, he wasn’t the brightest, he was super unmotivated, didn’t really care to try, the works. Typical Disney dumb older brother character. When he graduated high school, he went off to a community college. This always struck me as interesting, even as a kid. You see all these YA girls get into Harvard and Yale and other super exclusive, smart-guy colleges, but rarely a state school or (God forbid) community college. PJ ended up dropping out of that college as well (also unheard of in Disney shows at the time) but explains that his time working at his minimum wage job at a fried chicken place taught him he liked cooking, and decided his path in life should be to go to culinary school. At the end of the series, he has graduated culinary school and starts a food truck with his father selling gourmet PB&Js. (The name of the food truck is “B & PJ’s PB & Js” which got a laugh out of me) PJ was a really nice and realistic look into a character figuring himself out. He wasn’t some YA movie protagonist that is somehow so smart that he could just leap into an Ivy League college, but he wasn’t portrayed as a deadbeat loser with no hope either. The writers did a REALLY good job with his development over the course of the series.
@saphiriathebluedragonknight3756 ай бұрын
I like that PJ's love for cooking didn't come out of nowhere. There was a Thanksgiving episode where he cooked the Thanksgiving dinner. Well until the mom messed it up, but when she did he knew what would happen due to her actions. It gave him layers.

Good Luck Charlie is a down-to-earth, heartfelt and really solid family-oriented sitcom, it honestly had no right to be as good as it was. Having watched it all the way thru for the 1st time, it's amazing how well it holds up. The storylines are entertaining, the characters are memorable, the family is such a tight unit and the acting is very natural, unlike most of the other shows that were new at this time. It's the 1st Disney Channel sitcom to premiere in the 2010s and among those, it's the ONLY one to get its own movie, don't think a lot of ppl realize that. It's currently the last live-action Disney Channel show to get its own movie, how do u gen z'ers feel about that? It's one of those shows that can be enjoyed by anyone and feels more like ABC than Disney Channel. My only issues with it r Amy got way more self-centered during the last couple seasons, Teddy taking Spencer back, Teddy's video diaries not having as many lessons for Charlie to learn from starting in the middle of season 3 and Bob being emasculated by Amy. Overall, it is such a great, top notch show. PS: they did a crossover with Jessie and in that, it is painfully obvious which show is of higher quality and the acting styles clashed uncomfortably. The ONLY Jessie character who I enjoyed at all during the crossover was Bertram the butler, I felt bad for him when those brats didn't bother to help him out of that locker he was trapped in

Hi Alex, I just wanted to say a pregnancy can be "unexpected" since contraception can fail due to a whole lot of reasons like allergy's medicine (yup those interfere with the correct working of hormonal contraception and you should wear a condom when taking them) antibiotics, Polychistic Ovarian Syndrome, drinking alcohol and some hard drugs (those can interfere as well with hormonal contraception too). Also some women still get to bleed something similar to their periods for around 3-5 months of pregnancy. And, have you watched that show I didn't know I was pregnant?? Man only thing I can add right now is that females' bodies and hormones can be really complex and sometimes you really were not expecting that said baby.

@@emilylewis5373 my grandma's case with her last son who has my same age. She was told by a doctor to stop taking her contraception since she was already in her menopause and obviously couldn't get pregnant... oh boy 🙃

@@maplepainttube8158 Of course, some women can tell from the very beginning but some others can't. That was my point on to explain some reasons why women can think they are going through a normal cycle or may believe they are sick when instead they are in fact pregnant and far too gone to even consider an abortion.

birth control also fails if you take medications for certain conditions. I have epilepsy and i had to get off the pill because i had a seizure, i learned that the pill reduces the effectiveness of AEDs. I also learned AEDs can also reduce the pills effectiveness. There are many factors that come into birth control failing and causing pregnancy and how other factors influence the use of it too

This show was absolutely amazing . It was the last good show that was on disney before everything changed. Really miss it and I even had a marathon last year (I'm 23 haha)

Out of all the Disney Channel sitcoms my sisters have watched, I’ve liked this one the most. Some parts genuinely had me chuckle a bit,, whenever my sisters watch this show I might just sit down and watch a bit with them.

My parents genuinely enjoyed this show with me, and we still revisit it from time to time. It was my favourite show growing up.

I always thought this show stood out among the others on the channel. It didn’t have the same absurdly wacky over the top over acting. It was funny, while still being silly and more mature than most shows on Disney. It was one of my favorites
