the main character becomes slightly better at the end of the movie in comparison to the books, but in general, this is one of the most loyal book-to-movie adaptations out there. it's not an exact copy (the girl played by chloe grace mortez isn't in the books), but it has the exact same vibe.

Holy shit, yes. That’s what’s been on the tip of my tongue as I’ve been watching this guys’ videos on all these kids movies I grew up watching. What happened to actual child actors being prevalent and playing roles their age? This world is going down a dark fucking path, man. Kids are getting brainwashed with this encapsulation of mature themes. The internet is only making it worse and worse. It’s always something blatantly mature or portraying itself as “not mature”/“having teenage/child characters” despite the obvious grown ass adult actors/mature themes; it’s complete brain numbing nonsense. “Kids Shows” these days are there just to distract your child and get them out of your hair, teaching them practically nothing- no real, beneficial life lessons. Your children are basically looking at a black, blank screen, whatever it is being called “child entertainment” (for example: “Modern” SpongeBob… eugh… no remote intelligence in any aspect anymore in that shit). Either that or kids are being taught concepts and ideals they simply don’t need to know about at their age. Like gender propaganda, political views, etc., etc.- they just don’t need to know or be exposed to any of that shit.

@withniejules22443 жыл бұрын
@@llawliet6262 Don't do it. It's not your decision to break them up. If anything they'll say that you're being intrusive if you try to do it (the couple). Tell your older sister that she's being abusive by hitting you and blackmailing you to make this decision. Also, how close are you to the 21 year old, if she's just an acquaintance then I don't see how you can give her advice on her own decision to marry the person. If the 21 year old actually seems like she's being abused in the situation then give her advice only if she asks for it (as a friend, when you get to know her better). But after that there's not much you can do about them; especially if she chose to marry person. Also, although it sounds nuts some people can be in loving relationships despite the fact that they have huge age gaps, but that actually depends on the relationship itself. Honestly, these type of relationships are rare mainly, but there are very rare cases where the people are actually in love. Besides there are different strokes for different blokes. Also, I would suggest praying for the person too, while giving them advice if the person is actually in an abusive relationship. Because at the end of the day it comes down to the 21 year olds decision. Tell your older sister that it's not right that she would hold your living situation over your head for not doing what she wants. Because honestly that's not right. If she does it now then she'll probably try to do it more times in the future if you let it slide. Also, ask if her if she's okay because if she's reacting that strongly to the 21 year olds situation then there might be something triggering to her about it, and she might need to talk about it. Because maybe she has a trauma that she hasn't spoken about. However, I'm not saying that it's an excuse for hitting you like that because it's not. If you feel really threatened by anything like that again then I'd suggest moving to your parents or other family members home because her hitting you is not okay. However, if you guys patch things up then I'd suggest that your older sister has more open communication with you. Also, I know it isn't easy to speak up for yourself, but make sure you let her know how her reaction (the slapping and blackmailing) makes you feel. If she disregards that and how serious it was that she did that, then just move to your other families house or back to your house with your parents because that type of behavior is abusive. And you don't deserve that.

As someone currently in middle school, Alex hit the nail right on the head describing it. Kids will just randomly walk up to you, pick up your phone and start roasting your wallpaper, case, cracks in the screen, and trying to take pictures with it. I’m in middle school too and it sucks. I really miss elementary. It’s an awkward stage for everyone, for example, some kids in my class look like high schoolers and other ones look like third graders, the girls have streaks in their hair, and they hang out together and talk crap behind people’s backs. (I’m not saying that’s every girl, just some of the ones in my class) I just want to stick with my friends, skip gym, and do online school until I’m done with college. 🚶♂️..

For the safety patrol part, actually safety patrol is quite cool, and people think it's cool. They get free hot chocolate in the mornings, and of course have to work in the afternoons, but not only do you get a bit of real job experience...experience as in what a real job is almost like, but you literally get to go on field trips too. I was on safety patrol many years ago, and we got to go to an amusement park and ride on rides and even get some snacks, DURING SCHOOL HOURS. Yeah, go ahead and say safety patrol isn't cool now.

5 years ago I handed out the lunches to little kids in elementary school, the ones for the poor kids, and that was considered safety patrol. I got to go on the field trips for handing out meals, during class, with my friends, while not knowing why I was doing it, because I didn’t sign up. 😂

I’m 20 and my co-worker is 21 and she is married to a 58 year old man. They have been dating for a year. I personally find the age gap gross and I overheard her talking about it. I just told her that if she needs to talk to someone or if her marriage fails then I will help her if she wants it. I think their relationship is gross. I told my sister about my day and when I told her about the age gap she flipped out. She started cussing me out for not doing more and not trying to do more about it. I told her that I talked to her and I told her I would be there for her but that wasn't enough for my sister. She wants me to physically break them up. I have talked to her multiple times but she keeps telling me to leave her alone. My sister told me that I need to stalk them and break into their house and assault the boyfriend. She said if I don’t do that she will kick me out and that if I can’t break the couple up before the month is over she will kick me out. I’m torn on who has it the “worst” in middle school… As the movie pointed out, the boys all either look 7 or 17, then you’re judged/mocked relentlessly for it, you have to pee next to each other and your locker rooms are basically mini ThunderDome. As for the girls…… That’s when about 98% of us have our reproductive systems turn into ticking timebombs -just waiting for the perfect nightmare scenario to make us suddenly feel like we’re dying from a burst appendix, then embarrass and traumatize us with the unexpected crimson tidal wave. Eventually followed by the slow, horrifying realization that you’ll have to worry about this happening to you every 2-3 weeks…month in and month out…for like….another 30+ years or so…. Gawd, yeah-middle school is just the absolute worst. I genuinely feel bad for all kids in that age bracket. It’s WAY worse than high school!! 🤣🤦♀️

Angie's character was totally unnecessary in this movie and she's pretty annoying, good thing she doesn't show up for the sequels. 2. Greg Heffley is a HORRIBLE friend and he doesn't deserve Rowley. 3. The Disney reboot is an actual SIN and deserves to be called a crime to this franchise. Other than that, great movie☺️
@Charlotte-zi1fd2 жыл бұрын
1. Totally. She probably would have been a better character if the actress who player her could be in the sequels. She basically just disappears into thin air and it adds to the unnecessity of her character. 2. It gets hard to watch in the first movie, but in the sequels the character development is more apparent and he's only occasionally an asshole. 3. All reboots of this series are sins.

11:33 for a little foreward notice from Alex. Anyway, neat video. I got lucky and paused right at that little warning notice.

Y'know, Alex, you'd make an AMAZING horror movie reviewer. You posted on a community post that you didn't really know what to do once you run out of movies, and so maybe you could do horror movies and TV series's? I'd love to see a review on IT.

When you're kid, you think greg is right, but when you're older, you realize Rodrick was the most sane out of the family.

Rewatching this movie as a Canadian in highschool made me die inside because at that point; I knew someone who acts and looks like patty.

The first three movies (and the actual books themselves) are literally so iconic. Idk what the hell that fourth one was tho, we don’t talk about that one…
@videohistory7223 жыл бұрын
Simple. The original child actors were officially too old to keep going on as the characters, so they had to recast.

Long Haul was one of the best books in the entire series. The movie added so much unnesicary stuff.

@@jayngb Agreed, but apparently, the casting crew wasn't great so they didn't get very good actors in the first place, and the main kids were really hard to work with. Fair enough, since they're kids, but there have been so many great child actors out there and the ones in the fourth film weren't good at all. At least I've heard the twins playing Manny in Long Haul weren't as difficult as the ones in the first few films.
