Base Trim 2023 Subaru Outback
In 2023, the Subaru Outback base trim level comes packed with value. Subaru still gives their lowest trim line the standard symmetrical awd, eyesight safety technology for emergency braking and adaptive cruise control, LED steering responsive headlights and LED fog lights, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Roof rails, Alloy wheels, tons of cargo space, and more!
This is Subaru's lowest trim level offered in the 2023 Subaru Outback, but at a price of $29,620, this value is hard to beat.

Love the crossbars. They are light duty bars, but good that you don't need to pack them with you. I would still spring for some stronger ones with a roof box. If I squint I see my Crosstrek only a little bigger "everything". The dual screen is very much previous gen Crosstrek-eque. A Motorola MA1 dongle puts anyone $100 away from wireless Android Auto. Auto Start/Stop annoying? Again a $100 AE041 Autostop Eliminator will disable that "feature". I guess what I'm saying is you can take the base model and make it a more-perfect budget car for very little money.

Yes the base trims on all the Subarus seem to be a great value, I bought a 2016 base trim Forester new in late 2015 and have been very happy with it. The one thing I would like to see as an option on the base trim is the privacy glass for the back windows like all the other trims have, if it had that would be totally 😊. It seems the Subaru people likes for your cargo area to be a little exposed if you go with the base trim in that they don't give you the privacy glass or the cargo cover.

I would have easily opted for the base model when I bought my Outback. The only reason I didn't was, I wanted the blind spot monitoring and that's an option that wasn't available on the base models. So I upgraded to the Premium model and optioned the blind spot monitoring. While I was at it, I added some other things and am very happy with the car. Obviously, I wound up paying quite a bit more than if I had the base model but the car was still within my budget limitation. Honestly, the only thing I've had any issues with, and these have been minor, is that 11.5" tablet on the dash. With a base model, I wouldn't have had that to deal with. Beyond that, my Outback has been perfect.
@AbhishekRamesh1
@AbhishekRamesh1 Ай бұрын
What issues you had with the 11.5" screen?
@Intrepid175a
@Intrepid175a Ай бұрын
@@AbhishekRamesh1 - That tablet screen was pretty clunky in the beginning. There were times when it was very slow to boot up. I had some days when I was over a mile down the road before the radio would start playing and the touch screen would respond to me. At it's worst, I'd have to pull over, shut the car down and restart to get it to come on and work. Since I posted my original response above, Subaru has released several program updates that have not only corrected these complaints but addressed other issues that were just a matter of practicality. They put the auto start/stop and auto vehicle hold (AVH) controls on the home screen as well as the heated and ventilated seat controls so there's no need to dig into the menu systems to access those features. They also increased the size of the AC control buttons on the screen to make them easier to use while driving down the road. That part never bothered me but it obviously did for a lot of folks so Subaru changed it. The last update I did gave Android Auto a full screen display. In 2020, neither Android Auto or Apple CarPlay used the full screen. Subaru updated Apple CarPlay to full screen fairly early and it's only been till now (actually November 2023?) that they finally got around to doing it for Android Auto. For me, AA is actually useable now. Before, the display was so small that it was virtually unreadable. So, I'm happy with the system now. If it had been this way in the beginning, I wouldn't have had any complaints at all with the car.

Alex, you've seen me respond to many of your videos. As you know, we have the 2022 Forester Premium. I still love the Outback. When we test drove the car it had the RAB function and the audible beep function on the reverse screen but when we actually picked up the car after service was performed on it, those options are no longer even on the reverse screen. Subaru similar to many other manufacturers are prioritizing the higher trim levels for all models (higher profit margins and greater consumer interest) in their production line so if ordering from the factory, be prepared to wait well beyond the standard 2.5 months for a factory order. You may get lucky if you order just when they are switching over production.
