BEST Fishing Scale for the Money?

Funny that you just put this out. I was searching for a new scale a few weeks back and didn't see many video reviews so I pulled the trigger and got one. I was waiting until I got more use out of it before making a review but so far I like it. It's been pretty accurate weighing known weights, at least for me.

Hi Alex, I just received one of these. It seems to have quite a bit of play between the handle and the rod. Just seems loose. I’ve never owned lip grippers, just wondering if that’s normal with these. Thanks

Hard to pass up as a non-professional. Heck, the BocaGrip spring loaded with similar gripper jaws is close to $180 for a 15 lb max. Well made and tournament grade, but what a price.

Any time you use that style fish gripper or the plastic ones, please be sure to grip them tightly. The fish can start thrashing when you least expect it and you don't want to lose the fish with the grips still on his mouth. You lose your gear and it's probably a slow, miserable death for the fish. Mine have a paracord loop that I always make sure to put around my wrist. I think it would be a good idea for Picsifun to add a loop/leash and put a warning on the product ecouraging people to use it.

It had one and I took it off. I always weight my fish in the bottom of the boat so I just took it off! Thanks for the comment man!

I fish from a kayak and sometimes when I get a good one I'll use the grips to hold the fish down in the water to let her breathe while I get my scale or camera ready. That fish gets re-energized so that's why I'm so cautious about it. I like the scale I've got but this looks like something I might need. I try to bring as little gear as possible in the kayak and this would replace 2 pieces with 1. Thanks for the review.

@@AlexRuddFishing nice! I don't think you could've picked a better kayak. I actually fished from a bass boat last weekend and I gotta say I'd much rather be in my kayak. It was super windy and my friend "made" me run the trolling motor (first time). I wasn't getting many casts in because I was constantly having to posistion the boat. Also I just felt like the fish always knew we were there. In the yak I can be right next to the bank/grass and make parallel casts running the bait right along the edge and it's pretty much in the strike zone the whole time. I got my 7.5lb PB 2 weeks ago running a buzzbait this way. Anyways I'll quit rambling. Enjoy the kayak dude and get after em. Just found your channel btw. +1 sub.

Man I wish I had bought this. I bought the cheap rapala scale and I caught my pb the other day. I weighed her and it said 7.5, I took her to the taxidermist “yes she’s gonna be on the wall” put her on the scale and she was 9lbs on the dot.

There is a button combo that let's you calibrate it. It's all in the littler instruction booklet that comes with it.

Hmmm seems like I'm going to need to upgrade from my Berkley hook scale this coming season. I'm pretty careful with my scale, but why not eliminate any more potential damage to the fish.
