You are so right brotha! I'm a complete newbie and after watching many KZbinrs , no one has gone into the details of fishing as clearly as Tyler does. (Examples: how to move the line according to the bait, or how to set the hook)

I have YET to see a video for beginners EXACTLY how you should be retrieving each lure, they just explain it very generally and expect you to understand. This video explained everything more than perfectly, I feel like I actually have a better idea of how to work some of these baits, especially soft plastics, and I'm only 4 minutes in! Well done man!

I really enjoy watching your videos Tyler. We can see your excitement for teaching others how to fish all varieties of lures. I appreciate how in depth you go into each lure and the best techniques and places to fish them. I also like that fact that you promote other youtubers like Tyler Berg. I have subscribed to almost all of their channels too and pick up techniques from all of you that work best for me.

I bought my first fishing rod a few days ago (didn’t realize someone took the spool tension knob so I’ll have to figure out how to fish without it) and this video definitely gave me ideas on what to use and how to use it. I’ve fished a few times as a kid and enjoyed it, but never had a teacher. Now I’m watching KZbin videos trying to learn as much as I can before I go out here in a few days and you’re a great resource.

Covor water using 1 cast per spot. Important to reel fast for 2 to 3 seconds then pause lure. Start pause at 3 to 4 seconds. In extreme hot or cold longer. Don't always use 3 to 4 seconds add seconds an subtract seconds to pause. Reason to reel fast is to get a reaction strike. Once fish react an located vary retrieve an pause fine tuning your presentation. Fast 2 seconds then slow 2 seconds then pause. Mix up times of pause an retrieve speeds once you find fish. Always remember use fast retrieve to get reaction strike an vary pauses. One cast an area you want to cover a ton of water to locate bass

definitely earned a sub here. I also recently got back into fishing and am trying to learn as much as i can. Since i've been out i've had 3 fish on that all spit the hook in one way or another (2 were smallmouth that got it out on a jump) so please please please do the line tension video. And if i could make a suggestion for that video or even a separate video, could you (if you haven't already) go in depth into line poundage, and how you can know when your line is at its limit weight-wise? I've always been paranoid about snapping my line trying to get a snag loose even though its never happened, and i think it's causing me to use line that's too heavy for a lot of the fishing i'm doing. you do great work, and i'm about to binge like a dozen more of your videos. the clarity of your explanations is simply fantastic and the presentation is great. Randy you can watch videos where to generally locate bass in different seasons. During spawn season the best lure to use is top water. Walking baits buzz baits spinning baits. Also, a bobber 2 inches below the bobber a swivel with 8 inch 30 lb leed line with a baitholder hook with a ribbon tail worm with proline nightcrawler attractant. Kvd splash is an amazing bait to use in spawn an during the summer. It imitates a minnow by keeping line tight an snapping rod tip like a jerkbait. Also if you have a slight amount of slack jerking the rod tip it makes a unique sound like a bluegill. A shallow diving jerkbait can work well a suspending jerkbait for shallow water if your a shore angler.

Another good video Tyler. It's the same material as your last plastic how to video, but the closer camera angle really helps solidify the concept of lifting and reeling in the slack.

Bill Dance taught me one of the most important rules of thumb. when fishing any lure if you even think for one second you're getting a bite simply set the hook like you know it's a 10 LB bass. More times than not you will hook a fish. IT Don't hurt NOT ONE LITTLE THING to set that hook even if no fish is even there. Most times there will be fish

I grew up on salmon and steelhead in WA & Or. I can't begin to tell anyone how important a GOOD rod is. A good GRAPHITE rod. $100 is a good starting place. Being able to feel and interpret what's happening down there at the bait is so important.
