This video is right on time. We practiced kicks on Tuesday and my instructor told us to try wall kicks to work out our hips.

It's a sidekick but less hip outward in the execution of the kick.

It's basically a sparring sidekick. I'm just so used to the term cut kick now because I mainly teach/talk about sparring kicks/drills

I don't have a full split yet. But being consistent with your stretching will definitely help improve your flexibility, you just have to keep at it while also being careful to not overdo it and injure yourself.

My wife did a version of this with front kick to the front , turn 90 and side kick, turn 90 again back kick, then switch legs and back kick, side kick and front kick....

In WT yes, that's the style I fight in. I don't know for other styles
