@hauntingphantom143 ай бұрын
Sudachi easily. Any fork of Yuzu, or hell, even the latest EA build of Yuzu that was last released, runs games way better than the latest build of Ryujinx. I had an i7-10700K CPU with an RTX 2060 super and Sudachi/Yuzu ran all games at 1080p 60FPS only stuttering while compiling new shaders, except for BOTW and TOTK. Ryujinx is not even able to run games that came out in 2019 at full 60 FPS. Games like Luigi's mansion 3, Fire Emblem Three Houses, etc still only run at 40 FPS in Ryujinx. It can't even run Super Mario Wonder at stable 60FPS on certain levels whereas Sudachi can run even latest games flawlessly. Goes to show that Ryujinx still needs a lot of development and why Nintendo went after Yuzu first. Sad that Yuzu went out the way it did. Anyway, really great video showing a lot of games and their performance on both emulators.
@doomslayer89853 ай бұрын
the main issue here is that Ryujinx was written in C# which is slower than C++, also it focuses in very high accuracy which is dumb cause nearly all emulators on the scene rely on hacks in order to make games work. thats why in most cases any Yuzu fork will perform much better than Ryujinx even with slow releases. Also in the test Sudachi Low 1% were much greater thanks to async shader comp hack and smoothness while ryujinx is all over the place and much worse, which, heavily affects the experience. That's why even with good hardware you still want to use Sudachi, just look at how ryujinx performs in very heavy games (Bayonetta 3, Zelda BOTW/TOTK, Pokemon Violet/Scarlet, etc), and you will see the main flaws from that emulator.
@PingTPunk-rq9us3 ай бұрын
Nintendo did not go after Yuzu because it ran better than Ryujinx, Ryujinx just wasn't as popular and, more importantly, didn't monetize and/or deal with the AES keys.
@aoefnordlikemedal71323 ай бұрын
Ryujinx is just better in accuracy and don't use so many hacks as yuzu did. Accuraccy still costs performance and true emulators focus on accuracy! That's why Ryujinx is better.
@PingTPunk-rq9us3 ай бұрын
@@aoefnordlikemedal7132 I agree. Down the line using hacks to improve performance on Ryujinx will be much easier than trying to gain more accuracy for these Yuzu forks. Ryujinx is the emulator that is likely to age best.
@RegalPixelKing3 ай бұрын
Nintendo went after Yuzu for two reasons, and neither have to do with performance. 1) It had keys for games included in the emulator which is technically copywritten content 2) EA builds were blocked behind a 5 dollar paywall. In other words the best way to run a pirated copy of TotK at launch would be to buy an EA version of Yuzu. It was a no brainer for Nintendo to go after Yuzu. Ryujinx on the other hand covered their ass from day 1.

You mentioned something very important. Currently, what prevents Sudachi from growing even more is having only one developer. So overall Ryujinx tends to be slower but more accurate while Sudachi tends to be faster but with slightly worse emulation. I'd say that the rule of thumb should be if Ryujinx can handle a smooth frame rate then that emulator should be used. But if Ryujinx can't put out a satisfactory frame rate then Sudachi should be used instead.

Hello my friend, thanks for commenting. TotK does demand quite a lot from the CPU for good performance, especially when using the TotK Optimizer. However, you don’t need too much power to run the game at native 30FPS. I remember the last time I tested it with LS, I was extremely satisfied using a preset of 3x plus Sudachi's native 30FPS. The game ran at 90FPS with no major graphical issues. I hardly notice any input delay, especially since it’s a completely offline game, so I think it's worth it. Once I replay TotK, if I still have this CPU, I'll use this method, as part of the workload from LS is shifted to the GPU.

So basically: - Ryujinx accuracy came at a cost of being very demanding for your hardware, however it is relatively more stable with less emulation bugs and since it basically try to emulate the actual Nintendo Switch as close as it can, even newer game can be playable at a decent performance and stability (if your hardware is powerful enough ofc). If you're playing very heavy games, especially open world games or horribly optimized ones Ryujinx is not recommended on lower end GPU with lack of VRAM or integrated GPU, heck even mid range GPU will struggle. - Sudachi rely more on performance hacks and try to bring performance focused emulator at the cost of accuracy and stability. Some games as told and shown in this video can face more visual bugs and glitches on Sudachi compared to Ryujinx along with a rare yet still terrible stability in the case of Fighter Z which could harm your hardware. On top of this since the emulation isn't exactly accurate to the Nintendo Switch hardware, some newer games might not be instantly playable or stable day 1 and will need some a patch to optimize it. I haven't tried Sudachi yet, but I am currently using Ryujinx. I have no problem running games on both the base Switch resolution (720p/1080p) or 2x upscaled. The only game I have lots of stutter and problem with will be FE Engage, but it seems the game really have engine optimization problem since even Sudachi have stuttering and performance dip based on this video.

Really wish Ryujinx would just add a Async shader option like Yuzu and Sudachi have, until then il stick to Yuzu for the games i have for now
@JohnGamer033 ай бұрын
People are looking beyond Async shader compilation for awhile now. For many there is not much of slow down or stuttering for switch emulators. Should be moving forward to precompile shader cache before playing the game. Will have to ask developers to see if this can be done for their respective emulator.

At the moment, there's no way to get them to work together. It's necessary to implement a feature that allows one game to call another, in order to run MGS. However, neither of the teams has shown interest in implementing this feature yet.

Yuzu code is poisoned because Nintendo now owns it and can copyright strike any emulators based off of it. Need to make emulators not based on that. Ryujinx will be around the longest.

@@helloguy8934 I have over 90h right now and I didnt know that the game have some lighting problems, during the day the game have different lighting inside and outside, like is blinding bright when you're going outside or pitch black when going inside, the game will only adjust this difference with Reactive Flushing on, but that tanks alot the performance, unfortunately that can affect alot some cutscene, not to mention that sometimes is so bright outside that you cant even look at the screen lol. With Reactive Flushing turned off I got stable 30fps, with the 60fps mod I generally got between 55 and 60 in the field and about 35/40 in cities, my recomendation is turning off if you're just doing side quests. Back when I had a GTX 1060, it reached a point that Ryujinx crashed while running fire emblem engage, the vram was leaking. I tried again recently with my new rx 7600, the performance of engage remained the same (stuttering and 45fps average) but at least it didn't crashed

Didn't the Switch emulators get shut down by Nintendo a few months back? I'm confused...
@AlexwpiGame3 ай бұрын
Yes, Nintendo took down Yuzu, but as with everything that's already on the internet, it remains there. Quickly, they copied the code and derived it into other projects. Sudachi addressed the issues Nintendo had accused and sued Yuzu for, making the project "legal." On the other hand, Ryujinx is considered a legal project, based entirely on reverse engineering. It's said that it hasn't been taken down because its developer is Brazilian, and in Brazil, creating an emulator isn't classified as piracy since nothing is being sold. Besides that, there are other projects that Nintendo tries to inhibit, but emulation is like a hydra-cut off one head, and two more appear in its place.
