Totally agree with all of you... The Simpsons are now tedious and monotonous, the dialogues are like poetry, and they have lost that familiar character that gave them their success... We all felt identified with their characters, we all have aunts like Paty and Selma. Homer is now less stupid, and they have lost so much creativity that they dedicate complete episodes focusing on other characters, taking center stage off the central family...

@@kite9d3 my mistake!
@kite9d33 жыл бұрын
Haha, so I did some research and I think I figured out why it has the skips at beginning and end. Looks like the only official release of “The Land of Chocolate” song was on a soundtrack called “Go Simpsonic with The Simpsons” in which they muted Homer saying “wow, chocolate, half price!” in the middle of the song, but annoyingly they left in the dialogue at the beginning and end, which overlaps the first and last moments of the music. There are multiple youtube uploads of the song without the dialogue, all with identical skips. Whoever edited it spliced the audio to fill in those parts that were overlapped by dialogue, but they weren’t completely smooth about it, hence the skips. Anyway, we were talking about chocolate?
@kite9d33 жыл бұрын
kzbin.info/www/bejne/d6WbqGOEebJgars in case you want to see what I mean. Notice that the dialogue ends and begins in the exact spots where the skips are heard in the instrumental version

This is based on the overture from "Tucker" by Joe Jackson, which I don't think is nearly as memorable as Alf Clausen's take. It's actually amazing to me (as someone who dabbles on music writing) how some composers can take somebody else's theme and improve on it astronomically.
