Alfa Romeo C42 F1 2022 Car in action at Imola Circuit for a Pirelli F1 2023 Tyres Development Test

Back to last April for the first scheduled Pirelli test of the 2022 season, which was held at Imola Circuit just a couple of days after the GP weekend, in order to start the development of the 2023 F1 tyres compounds. To get more accurate data and results compared to the ones obtained in 2021 with 'mule cars' for 2022 tyres, teams were allowed to use their 2022 ground-effect machines last year. This video is fully focused on the 2022 Alfa Romeo C42 being driven by Zhou Guanyu during the first of the two-days of testing, followed by Robert Kubica, reserve and test driver of the team, on the second day.

@@tensevo limitations in f1 are not arbitrary, have you ever remotely felt anything close to driving an f1 car? If f1 cars and their manufacturers are completely unrestricted, god knows how dangerous the cars would be. And no lol, maybe if they somehow get more power they’d be faster than older f1 cars, but for now older f1 cars are faster whether you like it or not. Older f1 cars have stronger powertrains, lighter weight and better aero

The new Ferrari engine sounds awesome, especially when it’s at full chat and the wastegates open up out of corners. You can hear it during the broadcast especially in qualifying, the car suddenly gets louder and abruptly gets quieter a few seconds later. I always find it a joy watching a Ferrari powered car putting in a fast lap.

The cars Do Not sound this good during the race: something to do with the "waste- gate" component left opened during tests but closed during races. Don't know why but the races would sound super if this component was left opened.

The wastegate opens when the car reaches its target boost. When it opens, the exhaust sounds louder
