It's not that the 911 is bad to drive. It is a very capable car and does everything well. It's certainly not difficult to drive. Possibly too dull... but then I'm not flogging it around the Nurburgring. The GT just made me feel better. Its speed takes many others on the road by surprise. You can see them smiling at the next junction. Lots of thumbs up from admirers at lights which never happens in a Porsche. The sound from the effortless V6 has got to be one of the best 👌

@@beaufortcourt8413 Yeah, that's kind of what I meant. On the track, at the limit the 911 would be awesome but obviously one can't do that on the road so you're not really testing the car. In the GT on the other hand you don't need to be going an insane speed to have fun. I had a 3.0 164 and used to astonish other drivers with its power and handling. Now have a facelift 166 which I've straight-piped so it sounds amazing but isn't quite as peppy as the 164 as it's a bigger car. Great for cruising though. 😁

It’s normal for a properly maintained Busso engine. 100 000 km is nothing for these engines, with proper maintenance they are like new and last easily 300 000 km+ without the need to open them. Even after such mileage the only thing that you might have to change would be gasket and o-seals.

that's not a car: it's an Alfa Romeo ;-) Jokes aside, as many of the cars built in those year - if well maintained - they can last for many many years. And they will always look stunning. There is something in their look that is just eternal ... I can't say the same for recent cars.

I had one 11 years ago (3.2 v6 busso). Same color but with red leather seats, updated console, custom exhaust, squadra tuned (255hp). An absolute pleasure to drive.

Its more about the mass than the engine itself. Heavy cars usually accelerate poorly to 100kmh, but after 100, when weight plays a smaller role - they accelerate subjectively better. Of course there are other factors too.

This is not the same engine as on the 159. On the GT was a Busso engine, but on the 159 was GM engine. The GM engine was fine it was just really very slow.

Listen that sound...way better than I6 BMW or V6 Audi/VW! And for 240/250cv it pulls very hard, 16 sec on 100-200 is still impressive for a 19 years old engine (3.2 V6 arrived in the 147/156 GTA 2002).

@@Jack-cv4ke it’s my second car for over 6 years now. Bought it wit 60k kilometers. It’s now at 96k. The car is terrific! Cant be bored with the sound and acceleration. The way it pushes you in the seat while climbing in rpm is awesome!

Actually the original design is from the late sixties, they mainly increased capacity and added fuel injection over the years, so it’s pretty much a 50 year old engine. And it has no ‘fancy’ stuff like variable valve timing, making it even more impressive.

Such a great car. I have one with 1.9 jtd suprisingly good driving with diesel engine this car. But V6 six Busso is a dream. If I have a choice buy one I will buy it. I want it than any car. I know time is coming when I have to divorce from my GT but my heart always be on GT side. Lovely car with very good handling, great looking, coupe body. True love!

This should be the 24v version. It has more punch at high rpms, even if it looses something in the low ranges. Same unit of 156 and 147 GTA. By the way the main characteristic of this engine is the great elasticity and capability to change rpms. It's not about pure power but great fluency and gorgeous sound

finally someone who really knows the busso. Yes GT 3.2 24v like gta. too many people think it's a sports engine and pull in up to 8000rpm which is completely stupid (max power around 6200) Its a middle range engine.

Always lusted over the 3.2 V6. Had a 2008 1.9 Cloverleaf Q2 SE, which I miss loads, and it's still the most beautiful car i've ever had the pleasure of owning. Good looks definitely makes the car go faster, not to mention looking good when you look back when walking away ;)

The engine note is glorious, particularly above 4000rpm. Add a nice exhaust and it’s just about the best sound on the road, unless you’re comparing it with exotics that cost more than a house.

We are Italians, my dad owned a giulia super in the late 70’. My grandfather had only Alfa from the first to the last car. He always says is the sound of the Alfa that made them different from others brands. You could hear and understand it was an Alfa before see it (: Unfortunately Alfa doesn’t exists anymore, the busso v6 last evolution that the gt has and the 1750 turbo are the last two engines that can be called true Alfa. They are been withdrawn. The engine that Stelvio and Giulia quadrifoglio as the Giulia gta and the gtam are from Ferrari. And this is because Italians started to buy German car and not anymore more Italian cars, most of them started to criticise the Alfa for stupid staff. And because of it, now, Alfa makes two pretty model, and a shit little suv called Tonale that of Alfa as just the logo. Marchionne (with his plan) was the last person that could bring back Alfa, but as always most of the Italians started to criticise the car and the plan with his death fall. Sorry for my English anyway (: hope you understand.

Anybody that has driven an Alfa knows that you have to have big balls to drive it over 200kph. The engine is a masterpiece, but it swallowed 90% of the budget.

What are you talking about? Big balls to drive an Alfa over 200? You are totally wrong, only the 4C in stock form is hard to push over 210/220 because of its stock camber/caster regulations. My GTV 3.2 at 260 is like a train on rails! Alfas are known for handling expecially at high speed, thanks to their stability...come on!

I'm telling you that if you say that, you probably have never been in an Alfa Romeo beacause, 4C aside, they have always been famous for the handling and the safety at high speed. I told you that with mine, at 260 and over ON SPEEDO (so GPS would be around 252/255), I have never had any issue. So whats wrong with you? Why you talking about 280, downhill road and shit like that?? With the 4C I did same speed many times (260/263) but it was like a rollercoster and I have no problem to admit that. Now with few mods it's perfect at high speed too 😄.
