Thanks for the video. I have to change my front and rear shocks tomorrow on my 1975 Spider. This is a great help. It is hard working while holding a camera in the other hand but you did better than I.

quick top. if you are replacing the old shocks with new .the shocks are mounted upside down, so just get some vise grips latch onto the piston shaft, get a deep well, medium is great and a ratchet and just turn those nuts off, one at a time, the from inside of car. pull rug down , remove those 2 plates,Phillips screwdiver, now get a 13 mm Shockley and a 6 inch extender, remove nuts and pull shock out. pull plastic cover off and remove the top of the shocks. Now just reverse to install.( no vice grips ) and use anti seize on all the threads, after it is installed, cover the lower nut and bolts with a thin cover of lithium red grease, this will make it easier to remove later..

Thanks for the info, just a question… the rear of my spider is too high , how I can lower it?

THANK YOU!!! I'm about to replace the rear shocks and didn't know about them coming out the top. The factory service manual is totally worthless. I was thinking "will have have to partially disassemble the rear suspensions to drop the unit out the bottom?" Thankfully the answer is "no".

No problem, really easy. check alfabb.com too. Great place to find others who have already done the work.

Small impact wrench will spin nut off faster than shock can turn - works great. I have an identical '83, same color, Rosso 514, same Veloce interior
