This is a bit off topic in regards to the video, but me and a watch party of around 20 people have been binging your latest videos, and we noticed that you have been talking a lot about how us fans may get bored of these rapid-fire uploads. To quote my buddy from Oklahoma, "If [you] think nobody likes [your] uploads, then that's completely wrong. If he uploads every single day for the next three years, I will continue to watch religiously". TLDR, please, keep up your high quality and absolutely wonderful work and never think that us fans will get bored of it! By the way, GORGEOUS work on the Alfred custom! It looks fantastic, and the custom faces are the cherry on top of the effort you put into creating that work of art.

I have to say, these new 3D printed custom engines have to be some of the best TWR customs I’ve seen, despite not being really “wooden” in nature. XD I could look at them all day, just pure eye candy!

Although I personally would’ve given them a red running board with a black or gray foot plate, I think, keeping an accurate to the original wooden railway simplicity, works in your style. Even though it’s technically an accurate to the show, wooden railway has always had a Style that allows you to overlook it, and I think these models has captured that same energy. Great job

I remember in a previous video you mentioned that the reason you were so hesitant to use a 3D printer for builds was due to you wanting your creations to be as hand-made as possible. While I totally admire and respect that level of dedication, I still think the switch was worth it as It brings forth another talent of yours: your DESIGN work of the engines. You had these modeled to very specific restrictions, rules, and guidelines to made them fit in with most other wooden railway systems. That is EXTREMELY impressive and super clever. Yet again, I’m blown away by how amazing all of these look. I don’t know HOW you keep continuing to work this magic of yours, but oh my god it’s such a treat to see.

He looks great Lemmy. I made my Alfred AKA 98462 for my headcanon out of a Big City Engine. But the fact of how accurate this model is quite breathtaking. I would love to see this guy in Northwestern blue as 98462, but this is the Sodor dark times version so yeah. Keep up the good work man!

Oh Yeah, This Is One Lovely Model! I also like how Gordon looks like the TWR Scotsman. They have the same wheel arrangement. I just don't like the gap between the drivers, but I understand it. But I don't like Edward's red chassis/under frame. It just looks wrong, alongside that gold lining on his first splasher. Also maybe sand the wheels next time. Anyways, good models, but one looks off.

Alfred looks SO GOOD, my only gripe is how short Henry and Gordon feel? I understand your whole explanation, it’s just when James, Edward and Alfred are all their exact wheel arrangement and yet Gordon has the same wheel count as Edward, it just feels off? My suggestion would be making Gordon a 2-6-2 as well as giving Henry his proper wheel arrangement. Though holy shit your painting skills and modeling as a whole is immaculate

Easier said than done my friend; getting what you're suggesting to make turns is a nightmare on steroids. A beautiful nightmare, but a nightmare lol You have two real options for a genuine pacific. The first is you break it into two bogeys, the first being two pony axles and a driver, the second being two drivers and a pony, which divides the driving wheels in a way that feels unsatisfying to me. The second option is you have three sections; a stationary chassis block with all six drivers on it, and then articulated four wheel pony at the front and two wheel at the back (basically the real thing lol) But that does NOT want to stay on TWR track because all the weight is on the drivers, so the trucks are flimsy and no amount of weight helps. It also makes climbing ascending track and making switches impossible. I've settled on the eight wheel because it keeps this simple and fun and still looks good. Also it wouldn't look much like wooden railway anymore if engines got much longer; Alfred is already pushing it. I focus on the overall appearance more than the numbers; I don't count wheels, I measure heights and lengths, and Gordon is definitely taller and longer. You definitely have a point, but its one I've finally decided to stop pulling my hair out over haha
@ChaoticCaroline24
@ChaoticCaroline24 11 ай бұрын
Thaaaaat's completely fair, I suppose all of my rivet counting is causing me to forget stylization of brands. You do have a point with sizing on them all!!! And as I said they all look stellar! It's also nice that you're taking playability into account, my Take Along Gordon for instance would probably not stand a chance on something like the Boulder Quarry set lol. Thanks for the reminder that accuracy isn't everything in this sort of stuff, so long as it gives off the essence and grandeur of the character is all that matters. Not everything is a top of the line Kato model! I will CERTAINLY be using this advice on future customs.

Excellent work as always. A small correction though, the B12s actually have larger driving wheels than the Black 5s. The B12s have 6 ft 6 in diameter driving wheels whereas the Black 5s just have 6ft diameter driving wheels. I can see why you perceived them as small given how much of the driving wheels are concealed by splashers on the B12s and translating that into wooden railway wouldn't have been easy either given the wheels have to be fully exposed.

A few suggestions for the proportion problems: If you would like to retain the wooden railway “essence” that you have for Gordon, Henry, etc. I would keep them that way. Even with Edward, all the engines give off the energies of their basis, while remaining simplified. However Alfred would have to be shortened to a 2-6-0 wheel arrangement as not to juxtapose them. Trainmania 19 has a good example of balance as you had practiced on Gordon: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iHuVqYianqaDbacsi=2R353fFydCCiFd7t. Alternatively, you could make Gordon larger with a 2-6-2 wheel arrangement as you did on the new wooden railway model. Think of the LNER V2 or (dare I say it) the All Engines Go Gordon, while shorter, they have all the traits of the A1/A3; with the added bonus of having that balance you have on your current model. A disadvantage may be the size difference with henry and the others, big he is “Gordon the BIG engine”, so… idk. Finally, I would suggest investing in a a4 paper trimmer. I have a similar technique in lining with masking tape, with a paper trimmer, you could measure out the width consistently and cut out longer lengths. A disadvantage of masking tape is curves, though it seems that you print your extra lining, so this isn’t an issue. Hope this helps, your tugs video was a great inspiration along with your stories, thank you and please have a good day!

You sort of allude to it with the 9F being a tier above the Pacifics (despite the fact their wheelbase is just slightly shorter than the A3's ~~kinda shocking when I first found out~~), but if you were to tackle Murdoch/Evening Star in your revised/ideal TWR, how would you go about that?

Okay I don’t want you to see this comment and dislike your models that’s not my intention. I’m just saying they look a bit too accurate for a wooden railway. They’re so accurate. It looks weird and anyway Edward with a red chassis is something I will never get used to and his fenders make him look more like a car because it’s wooden railway they’re so big.
