you do good to show people what these people do. I have maritime license and education for many years. now i am a old man and still messing with boats. i started in nyc bay and now i am teaching my grandkids.. its a little boat with 1300 hp. these people go out and buy a nice boat but they really endangering their family plus others. they have no clue how to lounge the boat , how to encounter emergency medical or boat issues etc. I was with nyc police harbor unit and i have seen bad things. if you look at their boat one essential equipment is missing most of the boats. Marine Radio, see tow , plus other. nice videos.

Many many years ago, I was at a very exclusive marina, and saw a big 65’ sport fisherman coming in to dock. He pulled up the row between docks, swung the boat around and began backing into a narrow slip. We looked up on the fly bridge, and were amazed to see there was a young boy about 13 at the controls. He turned around to face the stern, reached behind his back to grab the throttles, and slid that big yacht into the slip like a seasoned captain! Someone trained him right.

Back in the 1950s I used to go visit my uncle who ran a farm and used horses to plough and pull carts, his boys at my age 13/14 watered the horses after their days work, Then the tractor came and I was told about it driving from the train station, my heart sank as the dray horses in London were being put down and electric milk floats and diesel trucks were being used. Uncle noticed my face and said all's OK the horses are semi retired, they pull light carts and spend quality time in the orchard. Happy with that I learnt to drive a tractor a trailer, my first job on leaving school was on a farm and the farmer was amazed on how well I could drive at 16 years. Later that year The Young Farmers Club held competitions at a county farm show. I entered the trailer backing competition and came first, my boss was over the moon and got me drunk in the beer tent. Since then I've gone onto drive most kinds of construction equipment, even tunnel boring machines. Teach em young, enjoy family days out, ban the cell phone and talk to one another. Your only here once.

I’ve been loading my 30’ CC for 8 years by myself when I’m alone, once you figure out how deep the bunk needs to be you then pull it up to the winch with a bow line. I have seen way to many accidents power loading especially by amateurs.

Yup absolutely….I was lucky enough to have an awesome Dad and Uncle who was a 20 year coastguard engineer. My uncle started me on assisting with his 16’ lund and when he felt I was ready we went to the 22’ CC and so on till I owned my own 28’…. I remember him making me take apart the galvanized winch and clean/lubricate etc…. Only twice did I ever need to “power load” this was here in Cape May during hurricane Irene and Floyd. I only did it to keep the rear from blowing out during the winch wind up.

Once boat is straight and can't go forward keep motors in gear and back up vehicle. Slide right on to bow stop. Very easy....but don't tell and kill the Chit Show.

That twin center console having a hard time getting his boat on the trailer while his ole lady is barking at him has several things wrong. First when you're putting you boat on a trailer you don't have to back the trailer in so far. Second, trim you're motor(2) up so you don't prop strike. Third get a straight shot at the trailer. Then motor it up until you near the wench stop and throttle off. Then pull you motors up the rest of the way, walk up to the bow and hook the bow ring step out and turn the wench a crank or two. Get in your truck and drive away.
