What's the eight-stringed instrument there? Looks like the neck is too long for it to be a mandoline and I guess the body-to-neck ratio too small for it to be an oud? I could be wrong though.

It's a bouzouki. It's indeed a cousin of a mandolin and it's a traditional instrument from Greece. :)
