Really beautiful, but indeed more for flight schools considering the price... I love your home made cockpit, it's amazing! I think in the end we will all use vr it's a lot cheaper and more dynamic, you can fly any plane you want and you got the feeling of really being in the cockpit, it's just waiting for higher resolution and a tactile glove which works perfect. I got some panels i use in vr and with muscle memory it works really good, but for training it's indeed to gimmicky still...

VR is highly interesting I am sure too, but going for a panel and a setup which you can smell (leather seats, etc.) and touch is my personal approach of mixed reality. And I am of course not considering costs when I go for that opinion. As you say it needs more time and in a couple of years you will make your brain believe you are in a real aircraft. Still you need to get some touch feedback when you klick buttons and hold the yoke.

I want to see all these VR users in 10 years. How many of you will be legally blind for keeping those OLED displays so close to your eyes for long sessions. I’d take a physical cockpit any day with Track IR or EyeTracker or even 3TV display than VR. I guess if you’re already over 60 it does not matter that much anymore but for us, simmers in our 30s, eyes seight is really important.

For this price you can get a full A320 professionaly made home simulator.

Not quite I guess but a semi professional huge A320 sim second hand maybe would cost the same indeed.

Hello. Hope you are still having fun with your flight deck sim . How many usb outputs do you need to have on your computer so to have flight deck system connected ?

Hi! I am looking to rebuild a Cessna 172 G1000 for ms FS 2020 without robbing a bank... You stated that there are way cheaper solutions. What are these? (Antwort gerne auch auf Deutsch :-) )

Look at simvim.com - you get free cessna cockpit panels that you can put on a cheap screen, have a cheap PI running it and you just google for cut-out templates for a wooden plate with holes and 3d printed bezels. A cheap saitek cessna yoke and throttle and an ipad for the radio stack. And a few buttons connected to an arduino or leo bodnar button board. Some time and a few hundred bucks and you can have a decent panel.
