URGENT INFO: This is just our beginners/foundation course. Visit ultimate-algebra.com and get all our other course so you can master Algebra The purpose of this course is to make Algebra "Annoyingly" Easy. 1. It was designed so that even a 10year old can fully understand. We actually even have 7 year old students going through it successfully. 2. We avoid using terms to explain anything, Example instead of saying variable, we will simply say letters. This will ensure that anyone who knows absolutely nothing in algebra can still learn it successfully 3. We used multiple modalities to make sure it is clear and concise. We use color codes so that your eyes can easily pick up information without you even putting effort into it. We made sure every theory is clearly stated and all the exceptions are duly noted so that you cannot get confused. These are a few things about this course. It is not intended to be everything you need in Algebra. Well then your design failed as I am 22 and can't understand this portion of the video. In 2a * 3b + 2a *4c, how do we come to 2a(3b+4c) ??? Why don't both 2a's merge to make 4a^2??? Should it not be 4a^2(3b+4c) ?? Yeah let's just randomly toss aside one 2a as if it never existed then give zero explanation for why we do so. Yup definitely easy enough for grade schoolers👍 7:40ish mark

Parenthesis section made absolutely no sense to me. No explanation was ever given for why like numbers and terms don't multiply each other. In 3ab+3ac for example, why does one 3a conveniently get tossed aside to form 3a(b+c) ??? Shouldn't it be 6a^2(b+c) ???

just don't fall into the PEMDAS 'trap': a lot of people think Multiplication ALWAYS is solved before Division they also think Addition is ALWAYS solved before Subtraction... NOPE Parenthesis Exponents Multiplication - Division (solve whichever comes first left to right) -> 36 ÷ 4 * 2 = 18; 36 * 4 ÷ 2 = 72 Addition - Subtraction (solve whichever comes first left to right) -> 36 + 4 - 2 = 38; 36 - 4 + 2 = 34

Hi first let me say thank ou for the videos, to help people learn algebra, now for my question 1) how can i tell when to use parenthesis to solve a problem and when to not use them? for example in the first video when adding and subtracting you said that you can't not add 3ab + 3ac because they'er not the same, so the answer is the same as the question 3ab + 3ac = 3ab + 3ac now in this video you took the 3ab + 3ac took the common part out to get 3a (b+c) how can i tell when to do it and when not to do it? 2) the using of positive and negative, I thought the rule was positive + positive = positive, negative + negative = positive, but positive + negative = negative, with that said, on the video starting at 5:28 the problem involving 2a - 4a * 2, is the answer negative because the 1st # 2a is small than 4a that it came out as a negative? is that a rule? So if the 1st # in subtracting (regardless if both # are positive) is smaller then the 2nd # it makes the answer negative? so if it was writing as negative 2a - negative 4a would the answer be -2a? please help me understand thank you.

Re: @ 4:26, Please explain why the y becomes squared if it was the x what was originally showing the square. I don't get why the square is dropped from x and added to y...
@greystarling
@greystarling 9 жыл бұрын
+Roseana melgoza 4:04, ok, so the 10xexponent2 is divided by 5x, which would be worked out 10 divided by 5 = 2, and x squared divided by x is just x, so you would get 2x. Then, the 3y * 2y will simplify as 6y2 (meaning the y is squared, my keyboard won't cooperate to show this well x3) y * y is shown y squared because you can't properly multiply variables. So, basically, the x squared isn't exactly dropped and given to the y, it's just divided out of x and later the y becomes squared. They don't have a direct relationship. Sorry if this is confusing lol I tried
@alyssatopping8039
@alyssatopping8039 8 жыл бұрын
+Roseana melgoza 3y x 2y = 6y^2 The little 2 just means however many of the letter there is. A letter by itself has one invisible exponent. Example: (x^1=x). Since we add exponents in multiplication, we add the two invisible ^1's. Thus, y x y = y^2. Likewise, since the x^2 is being divided by x, you subtract an invisible ^1. So (x^2/x = x). There is no correlation between the exponent dropped from x and the one added to the y. I tried to simplify it as much as possible over the internet idk I feel restricted

Learning algebra at home with a telecourse the instructor use to always go into detail, even if she said it several times before, like ie ( 2a - (+4a) is the difference between positive two minus positive 4 . The operator changes to positive and the sign changes to negative. Mine might be the old ancient way.

at 8:57 on video, I thought that you can not change unlike terms? or are you just rewriting it? does this mean its still to be unsolved since its unlike terms? its called expansion, right? but I don't think this is taught in beginners pre algebra?
@UltimateAlgebra
@UltimateAlgebra 7 жыл бұрын
yeah, they are unlike terms so you still cannot solve it. We are just writing it in another form. This is factorization, we have a video if you want to learn it kzbin.info/www/bejne/l3aoq2aEZZitr6s I must say though that it is an algebra 1 and 2 lesson, but it is still easy to understand

At 01:20 time stamp, on the bottom example, I believe she has this reversed in terms of the order of operations . . . the multiplication should come first and then the division, last.

10:16, i don't understand why you multiplied the three by 2. don't get that problem at all, should try being even more simplistic instead of going to another point without fully explaining why.
@BragginRitesTV

Easier way to understand is start with 6 + 3. If you wanted a common number between these you would have to expand the 6. Since 2*3 = 6, and we have a 3 already, you can make the common number = 3 and put the left over 2 in parenthesis.
@nigelbanana9884

This is a method to find the commond number in an equation to make grouping possible. Doing this doesn't really change the outcome since 2×3 = 6. Hope this helps :3

im confused, when you did the question (2a - 4a) * 2 how didnt you get positive 2a with power of 2 since there are "two a's". The 4 wasnt a negative either just subtracting the two numbers. Then multiply 2 to get 4a to the power of 2. if that makes any sense of what im asking.

We had 4ba. When you multiply letters the arrangement doesn't change the answer. So 4ba = 4ab. We just prefer to go alphabetically just to be consistent.
