I would love to re learn algebra 1 geometry , algebra 2 and trigonometry. Now I did have a lot up through college. so I would not be starting from scratch.

Where does Trig come in?

I find that schools with block scheduling by semesters are often able to offer Trig as a separate course typically taken after Alg.2 before Pre-Calc, but that is not necessarily the case in all schools. Many offer it as a year-long course as well. It's math so everything pops up again and again-a lot of the material you will see later on in Alg.2 if the teacher is not short on time. Aspects of Trig are also introduced in Geometry because the study of the angles of a triangle or of angles in a unit circle forms the basis of trig. As a student and now as a teacher I like having it as a separate course because I enjoy being able to nerd out with people who enjoy maths. Plus the class size tends to be smaller if it is offered by itself. I'm over 40 and covered quite a bit of trig in my hs physics class when I was a student. Not sure if the norm is having trig as a prereq for physics or learning it is part of a physics class nowadays- depends on your school. That also depends a lot on whether or not your school offers AP Physics, alg. or calc. If you were able to get Alg.1 out of the way in 8th grade and have the time to take all the courses, I say go for it. As an older person who sees all types of students with various degrees of interest in mathematics, I try to encourage students to take their time learning math because brain development plays a huge part in being able to absorb the material- I also say have an open mind even if they think that right now it is not useful to them because regardless of whether or not you need it for a job, there is certainly a gain in mental acuity that one gets by studying math, plus a sense of camaraderie with classmates who might not be their friend otherwise. I see the best friendships formed when students work on challenges together.

now i want to read that but thats i lot i think trig is just geometry in this case as angles to tend to fall in the same category @@pearl-n-nachocat2827
