One of the most valuable lessons I've learned from you is one of the simplest: in algo trading, often less is more. The main algo I'm researching right now only has two main inputs, and is robust across very wide ranges of both of them. Question for you: I appreciate the testing of an algo across all the different markets. Do you ever find, though, that a particular algorithm only works well in a couple of markets, but it works really well, and is robust in those markets? And are you willing to trade those? Or do you just chalk them up as anomalies and move on?

I will potentially trade if it works in even one market.

Great video as usual. BTW, what language is Multiwalk Software made of?
@AlgoTradingWithKevinDavey3 ай бұрын
It uses Tradestation OOEL and beyond that I do not know. Maybe C#?

Hi Kevin i got question. I'm wondering what is better in your opinion based on your experience. Are strategies based on indicators better, or maybe price action or preferably both?
@AlgoTradingWithKevinDavey3 ай бұрын
I go into testing with no biases - I'll test them both and see what works.

Hi Kevin, great video again. Thank you. Quick question: can you share list of the the '54ish' future markets you use to test the rough ideas? greetings from the Netherlands! Mike

Hi Kevin, thanks for the video. One question, Walkforward do you use just for obtaining the parameters of the strategy?, or do you use some KPI for the IS or OOS to filter the strategy to pass to the next stage?
@AlgoTradingWithKevinDavey3 ай бұрын
I do evaluate all the walkforward periods together to determine if strategy is acceptable to trade.

Hi Kevin, what other products do you use to aid in strategy creation/testing other than Tradestation?
@AlgoTradingWithKevinDavey3 ай бұрын
I discuss this in my course. Are you a course student?

How much money should I start with? Thanks.
@AlgoTradingWithKevinDavey3 ай бұрын
Depends on the strategies, your risk tolerance, there is quite a bit to it.

Kevin! I want to win the book so here is a question: Do you find that the strategies you are most excited about are the ones that work best? Or is it random? Or do those work worst?? Very curious if your intuition works out in real time trading!
@AlgoTradingWithKevinDavey3 ай бұрын
I do not find intuition helpful either in backtest or realtime. Sorry, you were not picked this time around.

how do you test if an Entry is good, without a Stop-Loss and Take-Profit rules ? if you do use SL and TP, are they something general that you use in all your tests, or is it a part of a strategy you want to test? Thanks
@AlgoTradingWithKevinDavey3 ай бұрын
Long signals first exit any short, and vice versa. Then all you see is the effectiveness of the entries themselves.
