Oh and we had rented the yurt (few years back) ... not sure if that is still around.

@14.15 - This area is a snake pit... We tried to lodge our canoe from there, and my buddy was literally a step away from like 10 water snakes. This campground has much to offer, I love the Barron Canyon views, really cool if you head there for sunset.

Never saw any snakes. I know they bunch up when reproducing. I must have been there the wrong time of the year. Haha. However, yes what a great place.

Alex!!! So great that you put this video out during these crazy times! I’m already missing the parks. Hope you’re staying safe and keep the videos coming. Cheers

Dude, its pronounced Ak-Ray,, not achray,, sites 9-6 for RVs on the water.
@graham9303 жыл бұрын
Awesome video!! I've been to Achray several times - often portage over to Stratton Lake to get further in to the bush so to speak :) Question - how do you do the video with the sunset with the regular speed video then the slow motion and back to regular speed?
@backpackeralex3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I just speed it up by crunching 15 mins into 20 seconds. Only other way is to time laps, take a picture every second or so and string a video togeather from that.

How far is the drive from pog lake
@backpackeralex5 ай бұрын
Over 2 hours at least, its not off highway 60. Other side of the park so you have to drive around it.

Great video, but I wanna know what the road from Pembroke to the Achray campsite is like to drive in. Is it all washboard like, and how long does it take to drive that road?
@backpackeralex4 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Ya, it's a good 40k of hard packed gravel. Its very wide as its built for logging trucks to drive two ways. I was driving 60-70km hour on most sections. There is a park office by the park boundary where I got my permit. Their are new washrooms there and a little tower that gave me cell reception.

Any tips on how I can get over my fear of bears?
@backpackeralex5 ай бұрын
They are more scared of you then you are of them. Bring spray, learn how to use it quickly and don't keep food in the tent.

Nice man, I've heard alot of good things about Archray and judging from your video it looks pretty nice. one of these days I got to get out to Barron Canyon to canoe it. Cheers!

Forsure! When I go again, canoeing is a must.

Hi, thank you for this. I know you said no showering 🧼. How about WC? Are there washrooms???
@backpackeralex4 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Working on Driftwood today. There was only outhouse style flush toilets. No comfort stations like the larger campgrounds. However, at the park entrance which is a good 30 mins to drive there and back you will find new washrooms with showers and cell reception.

You saw the hiking camp sites are they really rocky can you use pegs (for tent). I'm planning on bringing a tent that will not stand up without being pegged out.
@backpackeralex4 жыл бұрын
The sites I saw were pretty small and yea fairly rocky. Pegs will he hit or miss, maybe have a backup plan.
