So I wanna ask, if you end up getting site 1,2,3,4 is there a common area to get by the water and even swim? or are they pretty much in the bush the whole time lol? How's the area by the launch?
@backpackeralex3 жыл бұрын
Just the two at the water, otherwise all bush. However, yes better swimming at the launch 200 metres away regardles than those two sites.

Nice to have that trailer park food near by. @ 4:00 if you kept on walking past the falls you would of ran into the backcountry campsite. Keep em comin!

Thanks for this helpful video! What is the outhouse like, is it a sheltered or a box, and is one toilet shared among-st the 6 sites?
@backpackeralex4 жыл бұрын
No problem! From what I remember is was outhouse style shared. So hole in the ground with toilet on top in shelter.

I was in Temagami end of August and I saw some spooky stuff in the sky. I try just to ignore it, but now that you mention it, it was awfully suspicious. 3 lights spaced out unlike a plane, went straight up for a few minutes, and then just dissappeared. Looked like 3 meteors as they had a bit of a tail, except moving a heck of a lot slower than a meteor and going the wrong way I feel. Yeah, probably a plane or something, but man can the mind freak you out when alone in the backcountry.

Cool, thanks for sharing. I have never seen anything so I dont know how I would react. I do want to experience it however as I am a curious person.

How are the two sites by the water for hanging a hammock?
@backpackeralex4 жыл бұрын
Site #5 be better than #6 for Hammock, some big enough trees in the open I recall on that site. Number 6 where I was , it was pretty open, but I'm sure you could still pull it off behind the sire or off to the left side along the lake. Little bushy though.

How far is the walk from the parking lot to each of the 6 walk-in sites? And how far from the water are the sites (aside from sites 5 to 6 that are on the water)?
@backpackeralex4 жыл бұрын
Hi Alex, its only like 200-300 metres between them all from the lot as they are in a tight cluster. Still more spread out than most car camping though. Ya, the other sites are in the bush if someone is on 5 or 6 you would have to head back to the parking lot for water access, but again only like 200 metres. I thought it was kinda funny they were so close as I knew I as going back and forth to bring extra stuff like firewood. Was a pretty easy set up!
@alexklas81784 жыл бұрын
@@backpackeralex Thanks for the detailed reply! Ah okay so to get water (if you're not at 5 or 6) you'd be getting it from the boat launch site near the parking lot? No way of cutting through the bush? I guess cutting through would be cutting into sites 5 and 6 in a way, and like you said, 200 m isn't far at all. I'll be heading up this weekend but not sure if I'll get there in time to secure 5 or 6 so thanks for the info! Do all 6 have a picnic table, fire pit, etc.?
@backpackeralex4 жыл бұрын
@@alexklas8178 No worries, glad I could help. Yea 5 and 6 take up a lot of the waterfront in between the launch and those sites. Bush kinda thick and annoying too anyways. As for the tables, just taking a quick look at the video I don't seem to see one on 4 so not sure. Did you book? I never bothered to avoid the online registration fee and went to Pine Grove Camp Ground around the corner to get permit. I did see before I left no one had though. That campground actually looked pretty nice. www.pinegrovepoint.com/home.html

@@backpackeralex Okay got it. Yeah I booked on the Ontario parks site. Thanks for the link. Guess i'll do my best to get there early enough to get site 5 or 6! Cheers!

I have a bunch of spooky stories for you. The last UFO I saw was in Algonquin on Bandit Lake in 2018. It was a perfectly clear night and this thing moved like no aircraft we know about. I've got some other paranormal stories too.
@backpackeralex4 жыл бұрын
Any sounds from it? Cool, what paranormal stuff do you have?
@sylvandread97214 жыл бұрын
@@backpackeralex No sounds from it. There were two of us that night who saw it. I have a few other UFO stories, Bigfoot stories and other creepy stuff (disembodied voices, etc). I have a book coming out later this year if you like reading about creepy stuff in the woods.
@backpackeralex4 жыл бұрын
Yup! Keep me updated. What if UFO's are just humans from the future time traveling? Could be a tourist industry. Or it's just electromagnetic? Glowing balls of lights are often seen preceding earthquakes.

@@backpackeralex I've always liked the time travel theory. It makes a lot of sense. They could also be inter dimensional or from within the earth. A lot of reports have craft coming from out of the great lakes or mountains. I love talking about paranormal stuff around the campfire. The world is full of mystery!

Would have to call the park or a local business to see if its plowed. I got my permit at Pine Grove, not sure if they give permits this time of year. Might be closed. If it's not plowed you would have a 7k hike from the paved road.
