Camping is always an adventure. Some people would have just packed up and gone home. Good on you for sticking it out, that's what memories are made of. Too bad you didn't see a moose, there used to be a lot of moose in that area. Unfortunately, I hit one just east of the Cache lake entrance on June 24, 1987

Alex is back. True camper not deterred by rain. I know you like to just go direct to the park and get your site. So competitive now with Pandemic. Everyone is hitting the outdoors. Ever consider booking a site months in advance and choosing a nice one. I myself set 3 sites aside and go online right at 7:00 am when Ont. Parks open their bookings. Works fairly well and get one of the chosen sites. Cheers in the new year. Thanks for the many videos and insights.

Hi David, you are welcome. Yes, its rare I book in advance as my plans are often made the few days before or sometimes the day of lol. I hate paying the cash grab web registration fee too. Heck, throw in 2 bags of fire wood and some hotels are cheaper. Anyhow, yea this year people would book whatever whenever then cancel the day before as it was free to do so. Cheers!

Algonquin is the best. No need to travel 4 hours from Toronto. It's the best in Ontario.

Do you guys have any tips for camping in a tent

Sure, all depends what kind of trip you are going on and what season? Also, sleeping solo?

Any plans yet for 2021. Also you seem to book at the last minute or actually at the park, is that going to be an issue with the lack of available sites now.

Nah no plans yet, life is busy in my 30s lol. Got two big reno projects this summer, but do want to free up 2 weeks in Auguest to hit the road. Yea, I often book last min or show up in person to not pay the stupid 10 plus dollar online fee. I just keep a close eye on whats free for what day. Week days are easy to get and I don't think that will change. I bet alot of ppl panic booked and lots will cancel. I also heard roomer that the parks have saved up to 20 % of sites at certain parks and will open booking as time comes.

I'm currently camping a northern Ontario loop, turning out to be a great trip. Four nights starting tomorrow at Sleeping Giant.
