This is just messed up though because Instagram was always a photo-sharing app but they seem to be getting greedy wanting what TT has...NOW...because they are pushing reels, TT made it very clear last week that they will be open to photo sharing and people are posting photos and photo montages (which are ranking). Why can't these apps pick a lane and give their audiences what they want? People want a Photo sharing app...so now we have creatives moving over to Vero.

You should make a video on how you can increase reach WITH followers, not new ppl. The algorithm is no longer community based, it’s like TikToks algorithm: reach based. But what being one a million followers, if less than 1% of those watches your stories. "How to get high views on Instagram stories everytime" would be a great video. There must be a story algorithm. Things that push out some stories more over others. Talk about that 👍🏽😊

Creating reels doesn't really get that much views or followers at times..it really depends on many factors, like whether the topic or content created are trending or not trending. And if ya add audio, got to pick the trending ones as well.. editing on reels took longer than 3rd party editor & can't even change the pace of video clips.. people still prefer pics over video as they can see it instantly on their feed while video just whizzed past by... sigh..
@poogissploogis2 жыл бұрын
The editing on Reels is terrible. I'll make a white text piece with a colored rectangle behind it, it looks good, then I post it, and once it's been posted, the colored rectangle disappears and all I'm left with is the white text and it doesn't show up at all. It's very frustrating, I just post my TikToks now since their editing software doesn't bait and switch me.

Instagram is the equivalent of the “moving the goal post” analogy disenfranchised people talk about. You do what you need to reach the goal and as soon as you get close, they move the goal and change what you need to do to reach the goal. Unlike TikTok, they push what you like and encourage you to post what you like… NO GOAL POST.
@poogissploogis2 жыл бұрын
Yes! I've had way better luck on TikTok. I post the same video on TikTok and Instagram Reels, and the former will get 200-300 views, while the latter gets less than 30 almost every time. (I'm just starting out) TikTok feels much more straightforward to me and I don't feel like I'm constantly having to change my strategy to stay afloat.

Photographers have been making photographic images for well over a century, they use cameras to photograph still images because still images are seen in galleries and books all over the world. Tangible products are worth more in the hand than any instagram reel. Reels is not the way forward for a photographer, who wishes to convey a sense of meaning in a still image which can viewed and studied for longer than ten seconds or so. Your advice is not sound, instagram or rather social media is destroying the art form. If you don't get that, you don't get art.

Thank you for the information provided. It will definitely be used as I wade back onto Instagram with my upcoming Shopify-built store. *I have some info for you that I will say in the kindest way possible.* If you want to be considered a creative-type, like an artist or musician, wear a flowy, loose-fitting sweatshirt that is the brightest thing in view. Your outfit is okay if you're an Artist painting(like I do), but if you want to be seen as a professional with definitive knowledge, wear something, well - more professional. From the beginning of the video, alI I noticed was your white sweatshirt move on a tiny screen, and your face would blend into the background. Red or black would've complimented you, the white top overpowered you. It could just be me, because I judge all videos visually.
