Kanako is FOR ME, not me. Felip showed his vulnerable side in this. In Complex he is all angst, flexing and dissing his haters but here, we get sweet, grateful Felip. Guess there's a lot of interpretation to this song. For me it feels close to being a worship song. Edit: reading the comments I remember ang dami pla uses ng word na to-Kanako. Rusty na Bisaya ko. 😂

No point in translating it directly in English as our language is flexible enough especially Bisaya. "FOR ME" can be interpreted as "PARA NAKO", "KANAKO", "PARA KANAKO", all giving the same thought when you use it in an actual convo. "ME" can be interpreted as "KO" as in "He loves me" to "Gihigugma ko niya". We can also say that "NAKO" is the lazy version of "KANAKO" as in "Give me your love" to "Ihatag kanako ang imo gugma" and "Ihatag nako ang imo gugma", but then again it would also mean "I will give your love". For me, grammar and sentence structure in Bisaya is not as important as the context or intent. As long as it makes sense and able to communicate effectively, then the language already successfully completed its purpose.
