If you use cloth masks, I would suggest placing a piece of paper towel slightly smaller that the mask to layer over your mouth/bottom of your face so that the makeup won't mess up so much of the mask. If you use disposable ones, then the marks are nbd and I'd suggest wearing those on days wear you have on a full face of makeup!

@@kellygreengables3936 I sometimes cut up a coffee filter and put it on the inside of a cloth mask. This way, my lipstick doesn’t transfer to the cloth mask and it also offers an extra layer of virus protection!

Was watching your video in bed. Husband asked what i was watching, told him lipstick swatches. Did not notice he was actually paying attention. Boy oh boy when you swatched those reds he just smiled and said, i might have to buy you some of that. Hahahaha! He knows i have this love affair with lipsticks, red ones in particular. He usually buys me one whenever he travels. I admit i have too many reds to last me a lifetime. But. I guess another one wouldn't hurt. Hahahahaha! I have been watching your videos for more than a year now. I was still in the Philippines and now i am in California. Through this whole adjustment (me moving to a new country, getting married and the pandemic) you have been my companion. I’m 72 and have always loved makeup, especially lipstick. The colour that suits me best is a sort of reddish brown - neither too dark nor too light. If it’s too dark I look like a drag queen; too light and I look ill. I usually buy Clarins or Estée Lauder. It’s a traumatic experience if a favourite colour is discontinued! But I always find the assistants are very helpful when it comes to picking a new shade. This was a very interesting video - thank you! 😘. You look fabulous in all those shades you demonstrated.

@@annap1340 try using a lip primer on your lips before applying a lipstick that normally wouldn’t sit well on your lips .. that might help. Have you already tried that? OR, put something really hydrating on your lips (even something like Laneige lip sleeping mask .. not really just a “mask,” I use it on top of lipsticks quite often) BEFORE you start your makeup routine. Then, put your lipstick on last. When it comes time to apply it, first gently blot off the layer of Laneige lip mask, swipe on your lip primer, put on your lipstick, and voila!👌🏼. You’ll have beautiful 👄.,

In 2008 or 9, I came across a little book by a French mother, Anne-Dauphine Julliand, who lost her baby girl, who had been suffering from an incurable illness. @AnnieSuplicy To me the Velvet lipsticks from Lisa Eldridge have the perfect texture. They are matt but without being flat. I adore the shades. I paint and I am quite sensitive to colours and I find many of her shades multidimensional. I bought her lipsticks at the very beginning before she had any lipliners in her collection and I found that when I paint the edges of my lips with a brush to get the shape, there is no need for a liner because the lipstick does not bleed even with the darkest shades. I also find the packaging quite chic and it feels like it is of high quality and the velvet texture on the lipstick is just the final touch to make it feel extra special and luxurious. But I am no makeup expert and I have not tried endless amounts of makeup plus I try to keep my makeup bag as small as possible. I got rid of my Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks after trying Lisa Eldridge. CT were good lipsticks but slightly more creamy and less long lasting than LE.

When I think of iconic lipsticks, the first thing I think of is black honey from clinique. I remember my mom having it in her makeup when I was a kid. I have it in my mine today as an adult. It's not crazy opaque but its buildable, fast to put on without fuss, and comfortable on the lips. Thank you for showing so many different shades of red. Not all are equal.

Years ago, my mother used all Max Factor products. She often used a lovely peachy coral. First she would dot it along the bottom of her cheek bones, then blend it up over the cheeks. She had such a healthy glow! The she would take her lip liner brush and create the outline of her lips so they were even. Finally, she would fill in her lips and then gently blot them. No starlet looked as beautiful!

I scoop out the bottom of my lipsticks with a clear lip gloss wand. 2 things- I get every lit bit out of the base of the tube and it turns my gloss into the shade of lipstick that I love. I always sold a clear lipgloss to any client who came up needing a new lipstick because they had gotten to (what they thought) was the very end!

I rarely buy clothes and shoes maybe every two years only when something wears out. I have a small great quality closet - like everything would fit in a six foot closet. I wear makeup about 9 different makeups. Target Cleansing oil and la roche posay cleanser. You can tap a bit on your lips and wear it as a stain or go bold. Reminds me of a lacquer but soft and doesn’t transfer much when it sets. Def worth the price. I think it comes in about 20 something shades. My favorite on you was the Lisa Eldridge red. Oh my! Beautiful on you!

I also have a few others: 1). “Pussycat” by Tom Ford - love! It’s a matte formulation, leans a bit more plummy-pink than “Indian Rose” and because it’s a matte, it’s not as naturally creamy as “Indian Rose” … and it’s definitely not quite as “brownish” pink as Pillow Talk or Velvet Teddy. 2). “Lovecraft” by KVD - I probably love this shade even more than “Lolita.” I have two formulations of Lovecraft - the “Studded kiss cream lipstick” (not sure they even make/sell this formulation anymore though?) and the KVD liquid lip formula. 3). “Slow Burn” by Marc Jacobs. I think this might be my all-time favorite mauve-y “nude” lipstick for my skin tone (light-medium cool-toned skin, brunette, green eyes). Found it years ago and I keep re-purchasing .,

I would include Huda Beauty Power Matte Lipstick (shade "El Cinco de Mayo") in this list ... the most beautiful matte red shade that suits everyone. I have actually saved this useful video in my phone for reference the next time I go lipstick shopping. I am a lipstick addict like you!😊

I think Lancome Rouge l'Absolu #47 Rouge Rayonnant is a hidden classic. It's been in the collection forever, and it's a perfect, universal red for everybody. It's a bright red with a tiny hint of gold and I have yet to find a person that it does not look good on. I've been wearing it since I was a teenager, my mom wears it, her mother wears it...it's my substitute for the perfect little black dress - always on style and elevates any look. I do love that Versace 400, so gorgeous!

I have a love/hate relationship with red lipstick. I want a great red, and I feel like I can’t find one that’s great in me. Part of that is probably because I’m not used to seeing myself with a bold lip-even though I adore lipstick. 😵‍💫. But - today I bought my first Pat McGrath Labs, and I got Elson. It’s a stretch for me to spend that on a lipstick. And O-M-G, it’s so fabulous. I’m hooked. It’s going to be my signature color. You’re right about the formula- feels like liquid powder. And the amount of pigment gives it staining staying power. At first I thought it was wearing off pretty fast, and worried it was drying me out. But, now that it’s been 6 hrs I realize the stain it leaves is good for hours, even after eating. A dose of balm combats the small bit of dryness, and the color is still great. Big Elson ❤️❤️❤️❤️.

The iconic but worth the hype lipstick I’d add is very, very humble, but insanely flattering - Revlon Brazilian Tan. The shine it gives is polished and juicy, but the color is the star! I’d never expect anything that refined from them, but hey, it’s a welcome surprise.

Revlon Cherries in the Snow is such a great pink red and moisturizing on the lips. They do have some iconic colors. Also Fire and Ice.

Lexi that dries van noten lipstik on you looks naturally cared for, emphasizes them in the most beautiful way. The Armani formula and the swatch also great. I like the guerlain velvet how it looks but the perfume smell i can´t stand it.💄💋🥰 Thank you

I don’t really wear lipstick bc my lips are very thin and I’m self conscious about them so I don’t know many of these brands. But now will have to get a Lisa Eldridge lipstick :)

Perhaps try using a lip liner to make sure you’re really getting the colour up to the edges, it sounds slight but it really makes a difference 😊

I'm more into orangish hues. There are 2 that I absolutely loved and are not made anymore: Honeyflower, by Mac and Baked Earth, by Laura Mercier. Do you know any similar colors? Also, there's a classic you did not mention: Dior 434- PROMENADE. Beige-pink that suits almost everyone.

Mac Lady Danger has an almost neon orange hue. Nars Audacious Lipstick in Lana has orange, and so does Revlon Fire and Ice. Hope that helps.
