The quality of make up now is practically stage make up and or drag make up. It is as shocking to look at up close because it's meant to be seen on camera. Young girls straight out the gate are using stage and drag techniques including fillers, shots and surgery on barely developed features. Imho when this phase blows over in our culture we will be left with some very interesting faces to look at as they age. Interesting times.

As a guy, who grew up with beautiful sisters and a beautiful mom, in my opinion makeup should be applied so it doesn't look like you are wearing makeup. It should accentuate your own beauty, and yes if needed cover some minor flaws. Although I did see a great video on a make up artist who helped people who had a lot of issues - like scarring and disfiguration, and with her help, the people looked so much better with make up to hide what had happened to their faces. So make up can work miracles, but I think mostly it's a case of less is more.

Blush is ALWAYS a good idea. It’s the quickest and easiest way to add colour and youth and glow back into the skin. Blush should ALWAYS be included in everyone’s makeup routine each and every time they wear makeup ☺️

Their products are only available online and are somewhat pricey so I wait until they go on sale. But, since using their products the results have totally exceeded my expectations. At first I used the serum at least once or every other day. Now I only need to apply it once a week or even longer (when I forget) and it maintains the growth.

I first saw this video about 8-9 months ago, and I have to say… after putting these changes in action, when I DO wear makeup, I feel so much more confident because the difference is astonishing! Thank you sooooo much for this! Now I’m just trying to combat the rosacea I’ve developed (THANKS, aging and rare autoimmune disease… love never needing blush…) but I’m so happy with the changes I see by following these guidelines ❤

I ended up with a black eyeliner by mistake.... so I used it. My husband looked at me and immediately said that my makeup looked a bit harsh. Of course he was kind about it (he never even notices 99% of the time.) So you are absolutely correct about using brown eyeliner and mascara!! Also, I have stopped using bronzer on my cheek area as well, only on my forehead because I have a large one and it needs some color! Thank you for these suggestions, they are very helpful!!🥰

The “baby fat” explains a lot. I am 31, and around 29 I realized that I can no longer do makeup the same way as I used to. At first it was confusing to me, I felt as though I forgot how to do my makeup during pandemic lol I can no longer stand black liner, it just doesn’t look good on me. My eyebrow game became extremely natural, although I never did them harsh and dark before either. Absolutely cannot stand any metallic lipsticks (never did, but now especially). So these notes are a must not only for women 40 and older, but for us women crossing the line of 30s. I actually really like the idea of brown mascara, never thought of it before. Definitely getting it!
@tinamarie21212 жыл бұрын
Brown mascara is AWESOME! If you try one that doesn't seem pigmented enough, don't give up on it, though. Some of them just aren't dark enough TBH. 😕

Thank you for doing this video, lovely one!😘😊. As a veteran makeup artist of 29 years, I have seen many older, aging women wearing & applying their makeup the same way as they did in their more youthful years. It certainly can age one's face. I have had clients, that have been open to changing and seeing what I have suggested in updating their look. I have seen not only black eyeliner being too harsh, but also too dark of a lipstick and not much blush. As we age and go through menopause we lose color in our face and look faded, washed out. Our hair loses pigment/color & texture as well. Some may dye their hair too dark as it can look too harsh. It's all about balance. Aging doesn't have to be a time of giving up and throwing in the towel, thinking you can't still look & feel beautiful. I encourage all women of any age to know they can still feel & look beautiful! I accept that I am getting older, I will be turning 50 years old soon. I wish to look & feel graceful/refined/elegant in my aging process. My biggest and loudest message to everyone is take very good care of your skin!! Your skincare is the very foundation, that helps your makeup to look its very best. I love helping all women, especially my older clients. Aging doesn't have to be depressing or sad. We have learned from our mistakes in life, matured, and most of all gained some wisdom in helping others younger than ourselves to a better place. Makeup is a work of art, a portrait, painting in detailing one's most flattering features. Have a blessed day everyone!!!🙂💗

I’m now 44 … and. I couldn’t agree more with the” less is more” tactic … I have couple bottles of foundation and I use them only in little areas around my eyes and my eyelids and a couple of the little areas throughout my face… I never could understand the “full-faced” foundation trends that women have turned towards in the past decades.. whenever I’ve attempted to try that look in the past, it always would age me … I could not even imagine wearing a thick layer like that every day… I love this video I was totally intrigued by every word thank you so much…

Why do women care about looking young so much? Looking your age is so class. And not catering to the leery eye of men. We are more than that women.
@traceylou13 Жыл бұрын
You can never go wrong with some suncreen as your base and a beautiful mineral powder by bareMinerals. It’s about $50 in Australia but I’m not quite sure how much is overseas in Sephora. It comes in original which is a nice dewy finish or it comes in a matte version. I feel that mature women look way better with a dewy finish but it’s up to you. I feel it’s very important to have that base layer underneath and it will last you all day all night so make sure that your sunscreen is not mattifying and at night otherwise use a dewy moisturizer. It works better than primer and the second that you put your base on whether that be sunscreen or moisturizer get ready to buff the foundation on and it will use the moisture in your face product to make it stick to all skin types for hours. Following this method will have the foundation last you like 6-12 months and have you glowing because you can never overdo it - it’s foolproof

The one tip I would add (to your point about contouring and not having as much color on the face after a certain age) is to dab a tiny amount of soft light peach/pink blush or stain to the apple of my cheek. It brings a youthful blush and glow to the face that works great!
