Road is an instant classic! You’re right, he sounds so good you’d never believe he’s 75!! I’ve been buying his albums since since the mid seventies and all back catalog of course. What’s crazy is he had all these ballads on the radio in the mid to late seventies, I never cry, you and me, and how you gonna see me now, I was in Germany at the time and how you gonna see me now was a hit over there, crazy! Of course only women bleed was a big hit earlier. Anyway I’m a super fan and road is awesome, I love all his albums, even the early 80’s new wave albums… so creative

Yeah just mind boggling that he is 75! I hope he has a lot of gas left in the tank for at least 10 more years. Sad to think it’s all going to be winding down soon for someone so prolific that at some point there will be no more new Alice Cooper. But I love what he has given us so far!

No one is around physically forever & many legacy Artist sound bad compared to what they were ,so it’s an amazing gift to have at 75 Alice firing on all cylinders! He’s been so prolific,new albums,reissued anniversary classic albums and non stop touring in two freakin bands & sounds as great as ever !

It's amazing how this was a 5/10 album for me upon first listen. Now, having listened to it 4-5 times, it's a very good, fun album. Just brings a smile to my face. His best since Dirty Diamonds in my opinion.

Alice doesn't make bad albums. This is his best since "Hey Stoopid"....love it!
@BrendonSnyder Жыл бұрын
No he doesn’t, they’re always interesting no matter the style. But I do like lots of the post Hey Stoopid albums like The Last Temptation. That one is a highly underrated album. Another really good one IMO is Dragontown. But then the only album I can say I truly didn’t care for was Welcome 2 My Nightmare. Just too full of modern pop elements for my liking.
@ИванИванов-у8л9г Жыл бұрын
"The Last Temptation" is good and solid, maybe darker than expected at that time as I can remember. I like both "heavy" albums, "Brutal Planet" and "Dragontown", as well. Have all them on CDs. "Hey Stoopid" is classic now. This new one can be really good either judging from what I have heard already. Good review 👍🏻

Last temptation is one of his best albums after his 70s and 8os albums and Brutal too
@scorpiusbalthazar4327 Жыл бұрын
I disagree completely. The Last Temptation is better, but that's my personal favorite as my name is Steven and it's a whole album around Steven. Also, Along Came A Spider and Detroit Stories are better.

Some update 🙂 I have listened a couple of times to both "Road" (streamed) and "The Last Temptation", also streamed but I have it on a CD, one of US reissues of late 1990s-early 2000s I think, so, with a CD it would be even more obvious: the "Temptation" is (much?) better imo, it has more layers, emotions, originality and some of AC's very good or even excellent songs. I had not listened to "The Last Temptation" in full for a few years before that despite that "lost in America" refrain is around and "plays" in my head sometimes 🙂 So, for me it is clear it is a big album of Alice and I would return to it in future certainly that I am not sure of "Road" at the moment but I will try it again 🙂 And the most important point is that "The Last Temptation" has passed the test of time, at least for me 🙂 Almost 30 years and it sounds interesting and not dated. It may be true for "Road", a question is whether we have 30 more years and still around and interested in checking that. Cheers 🙂

Nice review! When I first listened to the singles and some snippets I thought this album will be the first AC album I won't like. Then, I got the album and it's probably his best since the early 00s. The current band need to come back for the next album too. Alice Cooper is one of the few that are still active from his generation and we are lucky to have him.

He’s also go another album he is working on plus he’s recorded a bunch of new songs with the original Alice Cooper Group from the 70’s and has yet to decide how he will release them. They could also become a whole album. So keep an eye out. It seems we get a new album from Alice just about every 2 years. I love that at 75 he’s still hard at work and doesn’t show any signs of slowing down.

There are few artists that have been able to pull off the chameleon approach to music constantly changing on each album but Alice Cooper is one of them. What’s cool is he has an album for every mood. Heavier, softer, more soulful, poppy, raw, classic, you name it, he’s done it. One of my all time favorite artists!
