When a band like this copies this song. it takes balls because the crowd probably has no idea what this song is. Kudos them for respecting good music.

That was my thought too. If they can entice one audience member to become an EJ fan, then they've done good. What a brilliant song and cover

I agree fully. This is what happens when great songs are written. You would almost have to TRY to Fu#@ it up. Great songs transcend bad musicians. (Not implying that here, just a general statement)..

This blows me away! To me, this has always been Elton's most beautiful song and to have AIC play it is fantastic. Jerry - you are AMAZING! Bravo...

Me too. This is freaking excellent.

oh my, never in my life could I imagine AIC covering this song. It's almost as if you close your eyes you can hear Davey, Dee and Nigel doing this without Elton. No disrespect to Jerry or the rest of the band. They threw their souls into this. Mr. Cantrell kudos to you and the band. Too bad the audience practically had no idea what you were playing.

LOL! No idea how this wound up in my mix list, but having grown up as an Elton John fan starting with Honky Chateau, this was awesome to listen to.

I clicked on this because I love Elton John and I love this particular song. AIC can absolutely do this song justice, because they are fantastic musicians. Not disappointed. Less screaming girls would have helped a lot, but the band held it together very well.

Jerry I’m sure chose this song because captain fantastic was one of his favorite albums! I would have cried hearing this from Alice. It’s such a deep emotional song beyond rock, shows Jerry connected with that . Sound wasn’t thx but darn was it great!

Man the show was amazing. I am one of the luckiest people in the world since I got to meet all of them. Such great guys. I remember when I was on sidestage, watching them come out. As Inez was walking to his seat I showed him the rock-on sign and he pointed at me with a smile. AiC for ever!

man, I like AIC, but not this, but I have a problem with most people covering EJ. and to show just how biased I am, I prefer EJs version to Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds to the Beatles! uh oh....I know that won't go down good, but its my opinion and my like!

Was looking to play Elton's '75 Wembley version of this song. Tremendously surprised to find this song covered by anyone. Tremendously surprised to find AIC covering an Elton song, especially this one. Nice cover. Saw them in '92 opening for VH front row in Tally. Make no mistakes, I was there for VH. This was a great cover.

Superstars, you put emotion into that. And definitely did a better job than I’ve ever heard Elton do. I need to stop now before I continue to try and express to you how fabulous you did that song ( By the way that song has always touched me deep in my heart for some reason) Now I’m certain you could sing Mary had a little lamb and pull it off like none other. thank you!

I'm sure you don't mean it the way it sounds, but you make it sound like a 12-years-old Justin Bieber fan, saying his versions would be the best because he is the cutest boy. I think, if I'd say, Elton's original is superior, because he created this beauty, it would make more sense, what do you think?

How the fuck can you hate William?! That is such a shit thing to say. Just because you love Layne...you HATE William. I feel really sorry for you if you carry that kind of garbage around in your heart. I live in Atlnat and have met William several times and he couldn't be a nicer person. I can only hope you have grown as a human in the time since you posted this bullshit.
