So funny to see someone describe what's interesting about grunge fashion as they first see it. She gets it totally right. It's a very "I'm above thinking about fashion and I've very carefully chosen clothes that say that" sort of style.

This is a tribute to Andrew Wood, who was the lead singer for Mother Love Bone, which 2 of those members went on to form Pearl Jam. Andrew died of an overdose at 24 in 1990. Layne Staley would follow and pass from an overdose in 2002!

Well, the shades on the singer weren't planned originally. I am not making this up-- Layne Staley went and got high on heroin right before they started filming so the director put the shades on him and cut down the lights to hide his bloodshot eyes and pinned pupils. Ya gotta keep in mind, this was 1992-- two years before Kurt Cobain died. This was back when rock and roll was still a dangerous job only real men could do. Not like this panzie ass hipster shit today..... no sir! There were no such things as E-cigs or juice cleanses. Nuh-uh!!! This was back when rock and roll was still a hazardous jobsite to find yourself on.

In terms of Alice in Chains, I really like the contrast between his voice and look here, and the MTV unplugged stuff. I will give credit to Jerry Cantrell. The harmonies between Jerry and Layne are really great! "Im looking at you, you looking at me, I'm looking at you, you looking at me." I need to check out.

I tend to agree that their sound was simplistic yet intricate. They did have one hell of a groove on this song and it helped skyrocket the album Dirt into multi Platinum status. A few other Alice In Chains songs worth checking out are,Got Me Wrong,Grind and I Know Something (Bout You). That 3rd song being super funky and bass heavy, with some twisted lyrics.

This was featured in the 1992 Romantic Comedy/Drama "Singles" set in Seattle's "Alternative" scene, where the band has a cameo in it Was a dedication to an associate of theirs by the name of Andrew Wood who was the lead singer of a band called Mother Love Bone, Wood passed away in 1990 after he lost his battle with heroin addiction. You should check out their Dirt album where this was the last song on the album.

This song is written about Andy Wood (hence play on Would?) the lead singer of Mother Love Bone who died of a heroine overdose in '90 and a great friend of AIC's. They were another Seattle band (who after Andy's death would form into Pearl Jam). That shirt that Layne Staley (singer) is wearing belonged to Andy and was given to Layne by Andy's girlfriend. Tragically Layne would also pass in the same way in '02 and Mike Starr the bass player (purple shirt and that awesome bass tone) would also mistakingly die from a cocktail of prescription drugs and methadone a few years after. We lost too many beautiful souls and incredible singers/musicians this way in the '90's. R.I.P Andy, Layne and Mike... never forgotten... miss you all.

Let me give you a little background on the outfit he’s wearing and the song. The song was written in memory of a friend of the band and fellow lead singer for a band called mother love bone (that went on to form Pearl Jam) named Andy Wood (would, Wood get it?). He passed away from a herion overdose and the shirt Layne is wearing in the video is one of Andy’s shirts.
