I think that series 5 was a dream and he fell asleep on his kitchen table. I'm not just saying that cos of Alice though. I don't know how much attention they put into continuity in Luther but I am guessing it is a lot so this is the only explanation I have for this: in several episodes in series 5 the timing seems really weird! A good example of this is in episode 2 when that old guy and Halliday woman leave the police station late at night and when they get there it is morning? I mean I know London is big and all but not that big!!! Another good example is in episode 4 where John and Halliday go into that house to find the serial killer at which I think is dawn or dusk but lets say it is dawn cos it is more likely, when they walk out though it is day. On the show it seemed like they were in there for like 5 minutes? Either they cut some of the time or something weird is going on... I think the time difference is something to do with Luther imagining how something is going to happen in his head and his mind hasn't moulded each scene correctly. If my theory is true then that means Alice could be alive!!! She only died in Luther's imagination

Oooooh! That's a really good theory! I also thought time was weird in the show with that last scene & I think Alice came up with the whole thing & it's interesting how we were brought to a similar sight/scene where luther dropped Madsen in the pilot to where he drops Alice. Just interesting things like that 🤔. And you know what else is strange??? We still have a loose end with that woman in Season 4 who was basically an Alice 2.0 & that was never resolved either!

this video is so perfect and i've watched it so so many times. if i had to pick i'd say i especially love the sections around 0:49-0:54 where alice and luther's laughs cut around each other and also the part from around 1:13-1:27 with all the times alice and luther have this sexually charged violence towards one another. but i love it all, i love this edit. the way you used the audio from the show whilst still keeping the bad guy/billie eilish lyrics and song clearly audible is genius. love this forever.
