Rocky Mountain National Park! I ran a half marathon in the Rockies in June 2019, just days after a freak snowstorm closed half the national park. It was my first time hiking in the snow, in entirely new conditions, and the experience changed my life. Absolutely magical. I decided right then and there that I needed to move here, and so I did, just last month.

Keep going a little further down to Ceadar Grove to sight see the water falls and at the end of Ceadar Grove, stop and swim 🏊‍♂️ in a beautiful swimming hole and watch people dive from a giant bolder into the water. Its a perfect place to have a picnic as well.

I LOVE this channel! What a nice Sunday surprise to watch this. Those trees were amazing and you got some amazing footage. You have such a great presence I really wish the KZbin algorithm would do more for your channel. It's criminal you don't have 100's of thousands of subscribers (if not millions) when you put out such quality content that is not only entertaining to watch but also educational. Your channel has been so helpful for me personally. Last year when I was in Georgia you shared some many great places to hike in your videos I went out and did some of them and it made my time there much more enjoyable. How are you Alice. This is a magnificent forest and manicured trail systems. I agree with your «common sense» comments when describing hikers behavior while out there. Some don`t get it and the pandemic attracted more of those to nature. I do not know much about California`s NP although I have spend some time in Joshua Tree NP a few years ago while in Palm Desert for a few days. Awesome scenery. Sequoia NP represents an identical flora and fauna that we found here in British Columbia's West Coast. Those red cedars are gigantic. Keep on hikin'!

That fire damage breaks my heart. Been to Sequoia / Kings Canyon many times. Totally agree with your mini speech about how disrespectful some people can be.

Me too I was so sad driving through that part. I’m glad the park was able to save so many old growth trees but several of the groves you have to hike to are pretty damaged too

If you haven't been down to King's River at Cedar Grove it's hard to say you've been to KIng's Canyon. Come back when it's open it's the best part of the park !!!!!

Go back in the fall, not the summer. My first trip there was in the fall, and we had a light dusting of snow. My last trip was with my son in November 2017, and it was virtually empty.

Great tips. Yes I actually dislike baiting parks in the summer way to busy!!!

Welcome back. I appreciate your candor regarding the actions of others in nature. There's a pull-off along the road going up Mt. Evans where I always stop to listen to the stream since I have a memory of stopping there as a child. The bark of the aspen trees at that spot are simply destroyed from people carving their names or initials. Sad. I don't understand why people stack rocks either. Little formations here and there for no justifiable reason. Takes away from the natural beauty. Unfortunate. Hope you had a good trip.

Thanks for the comment Jason. Yes rock piles may be worth talking about soon too as that is what parks actually use for trail markers. Carving names is really ignorant

Alice, great video again. Great view from Moro Rock. Did you attempt to climb up onto any of the cut down stumps or is that off limits? The park is on my list to go visit just have not had the chance yet.

I didn’t climb any stumps, not sure if it’s off limits but I’m sure it’s frowned upon. I did want to climb on top of tunnel log but the tree was too tall it seemed impossible without a ladder haha

@@AliceFordAdventures You need someone to give you a 'leg up' so to speak! I am glad the park was not overly damaged by the fire. In 1,000 years no one will even know.

Loved the tour...Although I can't believe they cut down trees to send around the country to prove they were that big.

They did a lot of strange things back then, you can still see one section of trunk at the Natural History Museum in NY i believe.

Think the giant Sequoia trees are like the Grand Canyon to first time visitors, they can't help but be impressed by the size.
