I love skijoring! We just spent 3 weeks doing it nearly every day over Christmas including at Pipestone (Lake Louise, Banff); Yoho Road & Lake OHara (Field, Yoho); and the most gorgeous Mt. Shark (Kananaskis)

I visited banff and jasper national parks back in summer of 2016, it was an incredible trip and I would love to go back someday! Couple of the highlights for me were the hiking trail at lake Louise that leads you up into a tea house, and the banff gondola up to sulphur mountain with a boardwalk trail of sorts at the summit. Thank you for sharing as always Alice, happy and safe travels wherever you are!

This is an absolutely wonderful experience. The landscape, the surrounding sounds, and overall the experience to connect more with nature is like a healing power that I have been looking for. As someone who got stuck too much in the city and lost kind an adventurous soul, I truly appreciate this. Thank you and wish you all the best :)

Majestic scenery. Every segment of this video looks so familiar. That's probably because I used to live in the Bow Valley where the towns of Banff and Canmore are located. The National Parks of Banff, Yoho, Kootenay and Jasper are a natural beauty but lately overcrowded. One of the most scenic high altitude road in the world, the Icefields Parkway, is situated near Lake Louise AB at one end and goes all the way up to Jasper AB at the north end for roughly 235kms (150 miles) drive along and nearby the continental divide. The lowest temperature I have experienced while living there was -40C / -40F (both systems reach the same reading at that point). The air is thinner and very dry. You need layers and a thick tuque. Never underestimate the cold. I used to cross country ski there every winter, in Lake Louise on New Years as a ritual to kick off the season. Summer brings different views of the area as winter covers up most of the surrounding nature with a snowpack that could be triggered into avalanches. I know very well the Yamnuska Dog Sanctuary as I used to drive by all the time. Well, this was my playground until 2 years ago but I am still a short 3 hours away now and can see the Rockies in the distance from my home. That's comforting. 🇨🇦🏔🥾☯️🇺🇸❄️😎

Anyhow, I am heading back to the West Coast soon and Vancouver Island has lots to explore. Maybe Ill see you there. Keep on hiking 🥾🍷☯️🇨🇦🇺🇸☮️

Love this Alice! I used to be a ski race coach at sunshine village! So happy to see that you had awesome conditions and were able to experience an inversion. Growing up in the east (Ontario), and moving west to YYC for a contract, I can certainly appreciate the beauty. I’m so happy to see that you were able to take in so much. Culture, scenery and the glaciers. Equally as stunning in the summer although the winter months are my personal fave 🥰

You are an Excellent Skier. I grew up Skiing ⛷️ in Colorado. I can ski Advanced Runs, but I have to do a lot of Turns to keep my speed down. I've skied Vail. Dave -- "The Going to the Sun Road" Driver

Hello! Binge-watching you because I am going to Canada on December on a work trip. Can you advise what footwear did you bring? Did you bring snow boots/ hiking boots specific to snow or just your standard water proof trek shoes?

Thank you. I brought snow boots and heated socks. I get really cold feet so an insulated boot in winter is a must for me.
