As much as I hate to admit it but this instrumental and a couple of other ones from Kanye's earliest projects, they're so inspired by the sheer excellence of J Dilla. The sampling, the bass, the feel, although the drums don't have that "swang" and the "imperfection" like what Dilla is known for but you can definitely hear the impact that Dilla had on Kanye when he made this beat.
