I LOVE THAT LACE!! It's going to be so pretty with all of those different textured fabrics.

I sure do hope so! It's such a long process but we'll just have to wait and see how everything turns out!

Oh, I love that netting (or tulle! I've never been able to fully figure out which to call it...but I've always seen really soft "tulle" called netting. So I tend to call the stiff stuff "tulle", and the soft stuff "netting"...look at how technical I am! 😂) Love this project so much! Excited to see the results!
@estelledesigns4 жыл бұрын
Haha I'm always trying to refer to it as netting since that's what it is! But it's so easy to get confused with tulle because it looks like tulle!... it just doesn't feel like it though!

I’m running late watching this. Life was wonky this week. The fabrics are pretty!!! I love the lace!!! It might be time to invest in more lacing for your corsets. See you next time.

Thank you! Life gets like that sometimes! And yes, I did buy two new lots of lacing so I don't have to keep unlacing and relacing my costumes!

Hi! Just wanted to pop by and say that typically a Voile fabric is going to be sheer. Just for future reference. I know a lot of people in my area hate the word because it’s a “drapery” term used to describe sheer cotton fabric used mostly in window treatments. It was new information to me as well!

Ahh thank you! I always thought it was a lightweight dressmaking fabric (like what was used for Cinderella's workdress from the 2015 movie). That's why I bought it, because on the website there was one which was the perfect blue/teal colour for Cinderella's workdress and I wanted to see if I liked the texture of it first with the white fabric... but I guess it's very different to what I was expecting!

i would definitely buy and wear this for my wedding

Haha... that's what I was thinking when I first saw this dress, but now that I'm making it as a costume, I think I'd want a simpler dress for my actual wedding (if I ever got married)!

If it's stretchy, then it's mesh/ netting. If it isn't, then it's tulle. I'm thinking it's tulle, but it's hard to tell.
@estelledesigns4 жыл бұрын
It's not stretchy at all, but I always thought tulle was a lot more fluffy.. and somehow more hole-y?!

Was the cotton drill just as stiff after you washed it?
@estelledesigns4 жыл бұрын
I have no idea!.. because I never washed it haha. I go by the rule that I treat my fabrics how I will treat them after the garment has been made. And for this one I would only do spot cleaning and/or drycleaning. I would not chuck it into the washing machine. But I will say that the fabric has become less stiff and more malleable after I've cut the pieces out and worked with it!
