The Red Sea object is such a cool one if you ever feel like checking it out! Such cool lore, exploration and background! I highly recommend volguns vid and then exploring series, as it kind of helps you understand some of what isn’t really explained by the original entry!

What gets me about this one is that this is one of the few SCP that have been deemed so out of control that containment pretty much consists of quarantine of area and burning away the effected areas in the contained area. In effect, eliminate everything you can find because you can't get rid of it. To that end, I have to question if any back burning up to the effected area and then systematically dumping jet fuel into every nook and cranny to burn it away is a viable strategy? Our ability to burn things is pretty substantial. It makes me think that they're just not trying hard enough if it's still that uncontained.

A flamethrower only has enough fuel for a few seconds of flame. Fuel is heavy and you don't want to carry too much weight.

I don't think the flame thrower and the amount of fuel they carry will only allow them to be fired for a few seconds, but the heavy weight is definitely true. No matter how advance they can be, there's still a limit in reducing weight.

@@garyvincent7397 But you're using so much so fast. An old m2 flamethrower weighs around 40lbs and could hold about 22lbs of fuel. All of it was spent in a matter of seconds. The amount of fuel you'd need is insane. Then there's the logistics. Carrying a ton of napalm would be dangerous, exhausting, and depleted immediately. It's bulky to transport, has limited range of use, and your not going to be able to carry much other equipment. Then there's the major issue, It's spraying a lot of fire in a confined space. A space that you're also in. Fire needs oxygen to burn and it uses a lot of it. You'd die as the fire takes the oxygen out of your lungs to further react with. You can't bring an air tank because you're carrying a flamethrower on your back, and if you could, you'd have another bomb on your back. Gas heats up and expands, if it can't expand, it builds pressure. When that air tank ruptures not only is it an explosion, it's also full of compressed oxygen. Bursting into a fireball alongside the tanks of extra fuel you brought and strapped to your back. All in all, it's not a pleasant experience. Can you tell by my rambling that I'm autistic? I didn't even intend to type that much it just happened.

There's reasons why guns are essential in the exploration. Key factors being: Data recording, on if said guns would be effective against the entities, and also you never know when space is gonna open up, and you'll have to engage on a long distance to minimize the risk of getting infection, as again. The recommended distance from infections instance of this entity, is 3 meters, so keeping said distance is vital as infections is known to be, irreversible and can be instantly considered a casualty.
