Russian dub is actually really good in some cases, for example Sukuna's voice in jjk in rus dub rivals the original and demon slayer dub is even better than the original imo (inosuke's voice is absolutely the best in rus dub), both titles are voiced by the same studio btw (studioband). I generally watch anime in original with subs, but when this studio is doing the dub, I actually prefer it to the original p.s. I hope when Snezhnaya releases hoyo will hire at least one Russian dude to check all the character and location names and make sure they make actual sense and are pronounced somewhat correctly, because considering how poorly Hollywood usually handles it, I'm scared to see how hoyo end up dealing with Russian names

Я просто в дичайшем восторге от СтуйдийнойБанды. Если есть их озвучка - всегда жду только её. Единственное, что меня просто повергло в расстройство, так это не до конца озвученная Кукла. Как раз после 9й серии начало "событий" и они так и не закончили работы. После того, как 9 серий было просмотрено с их озвучкой было до ужаса тяжело после переключаться на другую озвучку или даже оригинал, т.к. все они далеки от актёрской "школы" банды. И да, их голоса и игра почти всегда лучше даже оригинала. Но всё же должен отдать должное: очень много талантливых ребят и в других командах озвучивания - Анилибрия, ДримКаст.

Russian fandub is insane because people do that since 90-s for films games etc and even if that was not made officially, they still did their best to act good so even when new generation of actors came, they continued this path Thankfully, Mihoyo already recognised one of the russian fandub teams and sponsored them for both Genshin and HSR. I hope someday they'd let russian dubbers to make official russian dub, but I guess the devs don't want players to start hating them for letting russians do something and it's kinda reasonable sadly :c

But it is true that the current political climate (at least in the western part of the world) is generally very anti-russian to the point where everything russian is being ostracized, including language, and even the completely apolitical things. It all just became as dumbed down as "russian = bad and evil", all thanks to a certain well-known war. So it's no surprise whatsoever if businesses don't want to get involved, nowadays if you get seen being friendly/non-discriminatory with russian community you get bad looks and your reputation takes a hit, and for businesses you get stock/share price going down. Aka getting russian dub is complicated.

As a person who's native language is Russian (I've been studying English on my own for *ten* , freaking, years, to get to my current level), seeing this video on one of my favorite reaction channels just broke my mind. But I admit, russian voice actors are very talented people! And even though my current level allows me to flawlessly appreciate and enjoy all the American media I consume, there are still major exceptions of games and movies that are just so much nicer to play with Russian VO!

I always liked the voice and manner of the person who voice acting as Pedrolino here, and yes the fan dubbing anime team where we can here the most of these talented actors is called Anilibria (and pancakeser), and despite this team is one of the most popular fandubbing team, I don't think these persons are too popular, we can't even say we know or remember their names or nicknames. I find this a bit upset. They deserve to be recognized as Genshin official voices as you see, but the world is cruel and unfair place, so we should laugh at it's order and let it and all it's false celestial gods down. Yeah, russian fan dubbing, especially for anime, often better then English professional dubs for anything. It's just that not a lot of anime get official dubs... ever, so we ended up with ton of voice actors who have perfect voices for specific anime types of characters ahahah. But even in general, voice acting in russia is really developed cz we dub every single movie and series. Some channels actually buy fan dubs when tv buys right to show series. I remember it happened for sure with supernatural and Rick and Morty

(obligatory "as a russian") i wonder why fan-dubbed stuff sounds so much better than official dub in a lot of shows/games etc or when it's a really big thing vs more niche thing like... they always try to use voices of those who've been in the industry for ages or some talentless celebrities tho studios that dub anime mostly do a good job

Pancakeser actually made a better dub than this. It's much better, I mean it. They literally hired official voice actors, who participated in much more bigger projects. Pedrolino, for example, has the voice of Diego from "Ice Age" which was given by Alexander Gruzdiov and so on. I would really recommend you to also watch that video

The reason why Russia fandub is so good is, russian dond have oficial dub for anime. So fandub groups compete with eac other for audience sttention.

As a Russian speaker I think Pantalone and Childe VA's nailed their voices. The little gnome guy was also voiced pretty authentically. Arlecchino on the other hand not so much, her voice gives off more of a Signora vibe.
