Ah, another gem of animation. Initially author of the manga wanted to draw picture book, but he was told that his plot was too complicated for it, so he turned to manga. And so, the legend was born...

Ranking of Kings was one of those shows I tried out just for shits and giggles and FELL IN LOOOOVE with the storyline and art direction. Simple but effective in terms of art, and the storyline is so much more in-depth than the art style might imply. Also, I hope your treatments go well!

I pray for your health, and hope you are able to continue _Ranking of Kings_ on Patreon. This is one of my favorite "recent" anime series, and it totally made me cry (in a good way). T^T The feels, the feels... Due to the second season airing NOW, I ended up re-watching it via the dub with some friends. Worth it.

@BarlioneManobolge Жыл бұрын
Something that a lot of people overlook/don't notice is that Boji is actually older than he looks, he has stunted growth. He's older than Deida which puts him in at least the teens.

This show was so looked down upon because of the art style but I loved it and I can easily say that it's one of my favorite shows of recent years. On a side note, you should also check out Cells at Work!, it's a fun and very educative show about the human body and I imagine you would have a lot to talk about during the show. There's a couple more educative shows out there that are all good watches besides Cells at Work! like Dr. Stone, (science), Yuru Camp (camping) and How Heavy Are the Dumbbells You Lift? (working out). All of these shows have made me more interested in their specific topics and have helped me with the knowledge I've gotten from the shows that I didn't already know from school. I would also say Food Wars! as well, but I doubt you could watch it on KZbin. Dr. Stone is a very shonen like story with some battles in there but the overarching story (without spoilers) being about science and how we as humans have come quite far thanks to it. Yuru Camp is a very relax and feel-good-show about nature and camping with or without friends. Super good watch if you wanna chill and just exist. How Heavy Are the Dumbbells You Lift? is a show about working out and how to do it right. Not much else to be said there.

I'm not surprised you heard nothing of this anime at the beginning, especially since I never knew of this before watching it on a whim. The reasons are A.) People prefer to talk about MHA or Demon Slayer instead of this gem, and B.) The manga never hit stateside and never had any popularity here to speak of. It was never translated to english and never had any fan translations to my knowledge. So, nobody in the West even knew this existed, save for those dedicated and Japanese-fluent enough to get it at the source. But I am very happy someone on YT found it, especially my new subscribed-to channel. This story is so wholesome and pleasant with _just_ enough dark additions to make the world feel somewhat realistic without destroying the tone.

I remember hearing a doctor say that in his practice the people he saw beat cancer the most were the ones with a positive mind that they will beat it and those that were in complete negation. The conclusion he drew from that was that indifference and giving up are the worst attitudes one can have towards cancer. I hope it helps.
@aliciaxlife Жыл бұрын
Being negative affects the body badly because it messes with your cortisol. Medically what he is saying makes sense for people who would push themselves into being stressed about their cancer. But being positive and not processing that you will probably die before everyone else is shitty to do too. I have a responsibility to make sure things are prepared for when I die. I also have a responsibility to make sure I live my life and give people the closure they need.
@avilio6574 Жыл бұрын
@@aliciaxlife Sorry, I still don't have a good vocabulary with English. With positive I meant doing everything you can to overcome it. I understand, it's wise to be realistic and account for that possibility but at same time to not give up, that's what I got from him. Hope I don't come across as rude. My dad has experience taking care of family with cancer and when I told him that he agreed, so I wanted to share my grain of sand. But I know you know more than I, my best wishes and prayers. Love your reactions

@The_Blazelighter Жыл бұрын
If you are ever in need of wholesome babies without the trauma, I'd recommend Nichijou. It's a slice of life comedy that is both completely absurd yet entirely ordinary. It's my go to feel-good anime. If you want holesome babies with lots of trauma, check out Made in Abyss. I can't in good faith recommend this to you, as it has some of the most disturbing imagery involving babies. It's incredibly beautiful, but tough to watch at times.
