That's the funny thing: Yunyun and Megumin are the two opposite ends of the crimson demon spectrum. Megumin takes the normal Crimson demon behaviour and brings it a level further, while Yunyun struggles to act the crimson demon way and is mostly normal instead.

In the movie, you can miss that because they are showing off in front of their guests or enemies, but in the Explosion spinoff you can see all of them act normal at times, just like Megumin. Megumin isn't pretending to act like a crimson demon, she LIVES it.

FUN FACT: Hyoizaburoo, Megumin's dad, is a magic craftsman. And a really good one too, capable of making items with amazing magical effects. Why is he so poor then? Because he's a Crimson Demon through and through; he thinks it is a fantastic thing for Magical Items to have a side effect that encourages Adventurers to think really carefully on when to use the item. To RISK using the item. All of Wiz's faulty items that don't get sold? His work. And it's not that they NEED to be there, he just insists that making plain useful items doesn't fit his artist soul. So he actually chooses his craft over his family in that way. If he just made the items without them luring all the monsters in the area upon activation or something similar, he might just be the single most famous craftsman in the entire land. Guess that is where Megumin got her stuborness.

One little misunderstanding I think 1:07:48 is that Kazuma was genuinely scared when he opened that door to the weapon. He really wasn't down bad. Like at all. Sylvia threatened to show how she freaky was but Kazuma said 'nah, f*ck that,' and immediately gave in. He didn't want the goodies. Even added Sylvia as Kazuma's 2nd psychological scar. And Vanir who reads people's minds confirmed that later on. But anyway, great reaction. It honestly unexpectedly hit me in the feels too at the end there. I know that 99% of the time, they just bicker and make fun of one another. But I think it makes the wholesome moments shine even more. Like Kazuma and Aqua's little moment there during the big fight, and Kazuma deciding for Megumin that she shouldn't abandon Explosion Magic. Gotta love this party of idiots. It might not seem like it most of the time, but when it comes down to it they're all willing to jump in front of a bullet for their friends. And Kazuma does it every time. He always uses himself as bait knowing he will die doing it. We're getting close to catching up now. We watching the Megumin spin-off or are we going to Season 3 directly? Spin-off might be less popular though. I'm down either way.

Supplementary info/LN changes 10:29 - They’re based on Phantom Blood Dio, so of course (so Hyoizaburo being based on Jotaro isn’t that bizarre.) 40:54 - This was because of some guy from Japan who said that it brings good luck if you pray to it. 45:14 - JoJo reference, from Part 3, when the Stardust Crusaders broke the wall and saved Polnareff from Dio. 55:18 - In the LN, much like the pacing just to sleep, he panicked and froze it and immediately regretted after thinking. 56:47 - Yup, Kazuma’s a coward due to his childhood friend PTSD and he’s all talk/the girl has to take the initiative (like Kaguya-sama in a way, but this was before it.) Since some stuff was cut and not mentioned yet, I’ll mention that stuff. ​ There was also a celebration for Yun Yun where she became the most popular person in the village and they wanted to hang out/have a meal with her (ironically, it’s not what she wanted because posing and being a classic Crimson Demon, embarrasses her.) This makes the 120 Explosion hit harder and they also had an extra day and night, where Megumin confessed that she likes him and she found out about Valentine’s Day and Kazuma’s competition with his little brother and Megumin promised to give him chocolate on that day to help him beat his brother fair and square (Kazuma’s been telling her about Japan throughout the LNs.) Not only that, but you have Megumin trolling Dodonko and Funifura, the ‘Mean Girls’ by claiming Kazuma as ‘her man,’ when they tried to ‘flirt’ with him. Arue also had her own scene where she pulled a Rohan Kishibe and went home to write down the events of the fights into a manuscript and then Kazuma tore it up because she’s responsible for all his problems here (she trolled him multiple times and Akatsuki with Arue, is basically Araki with Rohan.) The big fight was also different and ended with the railgun, because it was just JoJo Part 2 (a bunch of Hamon users vs an invincible ultimate lifeform, but they were actually able to push back Sylvia and there was so many trolling moments, like Soketto and Bukkorori having a ‘this is my final Hamon,’ moment and trolled her (and Kazuma and the readers.) Kazuma is underleveled because of never getting Boss EXP and Sylvia was turned into Magic Resistance gear, while the village was fixed in a few days.

Though Yunyun thinking that the "letter" meant Kazuma is kind of a non-verbal roast. Aqua just nonchalantly walking over to Kazuma and putting his pants back on, without anyone acknowledging it, is just hilarious to me, as is Darkness just stopping to move in mid-run and rolling from the momentum. ^^ Poor Hans, the Axis cultists mentally damaged him so badly, it's persisting even in the afterlife.

This movie was peak Scumzuma and Kazutrash. I also loved that his final gambit was "I'm gonna strap my low-level ass to you abd *be* the giant weakpoint to target." All things considered, Slyvia was astoundingly patient with everyone here. The fact that she was so forgiving of Kazuma after all the shit he pulled tells us just how much of of a shit the Crimson Demons were being to her on the regular.

So that 1 isekai guy, had motivation then lost it, became self indulgent & bald when designing maid robots that abuse you & put self destruction just cuz, then went on to make crimson demons giving them serial numbers from birth & high magic to some people with same 'eagerness' that aqua's followers have, made anti mage weapon then made destroyer that destroyed the country & he died inside of it...Quite the menace
