The somber music in that last massacre was fucking PERFECT! It really reflects how Jinwoo isn't fighting the hunters, this isn't an action scene, he doesn't WANT to kill them, he's being forced by their actions and "The System" to kill them or he will simply die. He isn't playing with them, torturing them, or mocking them, he is simply reacting to their actions. Even for a character like Jinwoo, who has been taught again and again and again that in the world of hunters, power is absolute, it's all that matters, he struggles at first with killing his fellow man, if they hadn't been such murderous douche-canoes he could never have done it, though of course, if they were just normal hunters he never would have received that Urgent Quest. It's bloody incredible character work and only a TASTE of what is coming down the road, good GOD I love when a show is faithful to a well written novel, you can really feel how focused the story is on exploring the character of Jinwoo as he experiences these horrors.

I feel you. I always feel erked when an anime takes liberties due to laziness. But none of that here. Not only have they been fateful to the novel, they’ve added golden moments too. Haein’s introduction, talk show with Yoonho and that pleasant lunch scene with those lady hunters. This adds enough charm to have it’s own identity and I love it.

I liken the final kill to the death of the cannibal leader in Walking Dead. Dude was pleading for mercy, trying to bargain his way out, then got snuffed anyways. Responding to "we will never cross paths again, I promise you" Rick said "you'll cross SOMEONE'S path. You'd do this to anyone, right?" I think that applies here too. Regardless of the system telling Jinwoo to follow through to the end, this guy was likely going to continue betraying others and getting more people killed. By stopping him here, Jinwoo probably saved many other lives.

Fun fact Jinho calls Jin Woo "Jin Woo-aniki" (esteemed older brother) but in the manhwa he called Jin Woo "Jin Woo-hyung" which in Korean would be close to elder brother (with respect). They could have gone with "senpai" which would have worked just the same but I think "aniki" was the right choice for the replacement. Ive always contextuallized Jin Woo's letter rank as changing in increments of 5. As in, every rank is +5 to the previous level. So E rank is level 1-5. D rank consists of 10 levels because 5+5, so it covers levels 6-15. C rank is 15 levels, so it covers 16-30. B rank is 20 levels, so it's 31-50. A rank is 25 levels, so it covers 51-75. S rank is anything past that.

Alicia is absolutely hilarious to me, because on one hand, I don't know of a streamer who is more empathetic, understanding, and just generally on it with mental health awareness than her... Btw, it doesnt really explain it that in-depth in the anime, but Agility doesnt actually make him faster like you would think based on regular games and stuff. Strength increases his muscles, which increases his power and therefore also his speed. He did some testing to figure that out, but when he leveled up in the instance dungeon and got his 1st boost to Agility, what he learned was that Agility allowed him to process things faster, so the higher his agility, the slower his enemies look from his POV. So his Strength allows him to attack and move fast, but his Agility allows him to notice an attack coming so that he can dodge or counter

So there are people with second awakenings right like its very uncommon but not abnormal think like siamese twins or something but were kinda led to believe that jin infact didnt have a second awakening hes just weird and as far as the anime is concerned there might not be anyone like him where they can continuously grow their stats unendingly even if he hits a level cap or like a theoretically level cap where killing s ranks or like the gods themselves or something doesnt give him xp anymore cause they are too low leveled like he can get 3 skill points a day + any other quest rewards you know
