lol, the hive Lord is Ne'Gok Sa, the Ma'Ro Mindbender

With three hearts (30 HP), the Hive Lord is pretty tough, even before considering his abilities; with a minimum of two Drones spawning automatically every round without fail, the Hive Lord can effectively auto-heal one heart (10 HP) and the number of foes will still be replenished each round. I can imagine that could make players feel like their PCs are just going through the motions if they bother to attack the Hive Lord at all. Given that this encounter has a hard cap of six rounds, if I wanted to have my players have at least a fair chance of getting the rush of dropping the big bad boss, I might make the Hive Lord have to destroy a drone by touch (CLOSE proximity) in order to use its energy to heal a heart. Otherwise, I would be concerned that the Hive Boss is relegated to a persistent environmental hazard/distraction role disguised as a valid, potentially vanquished opponent. Depending on your players, that can sometimes have an adverse effect on the feel at the table, if players feel unfairly faked out.

I know you've said you haven't really played 5e but I would love to see you go through the monster manual and convert monsters to ICRPG really interested to see your take on them.

Yeah I’ve never played 5e haha. Maybe one day. As for converting monsters, I’ll consider doing something with them but for the most part I’d just aim to capture the spirit of the monster rather than doing a 1 to 1 conversion. I do know there is a conversion for 5e to ICRPG floating around somewhere on the forums though. I think they actually did convert a lot of monsters.
