It was exactly as I predicted - Amanda finds a recording of her mother. But I was close to tears when I listened to that in the game. Great job Sigourney! I'm really pleased Sigourney chose this particular Alien game to be associated with and added a key moment to the game.

This is the greatest Alien game they have ever made. Finally a game not based on the godforsaken sequel. Yes, I love Aliens, but almost every game is based on James Cameron's film. I never expected to have such a great time playing a game based on the original, but they made it totally work!

Watching Aliens after playing Isolation really changes the scene in the director's cut when they talk about Amanda, now that we've all seen the crap she had to go through. She survived all that, only to be taken out by cancer :(

@@JeremyJenner we also don't know what the hell happened to Amanda after the ending other than that light shining on her in which we still have no indication she was rescued, and even if she was who's to say she didn't end up in the same situation her mother ended up in at the end of the first alien you know the entire point and this one where we know Ellen is still cryogenically frozen by the time she finally makes it back. Who's this a Amanda isn't in that same scenario. Still doesn't change that no matter what happens neither mother or daughter will ever see each other again that is truly sad

They will one day. This is just a game, but I'm talking about real life. I'm not religious, I'm a scientist, but I have had several experiences that make me think there is something else. I don't know what. But there are definitely things that happen that can't be tested.

It was great to find that in the game. It's the only chance for Ellen to kiss her daughter goodbye and to say that she loved her for the last time. Yes, it's sad. Of course. What could you expect? All we know that Amanda died by natural causes while her mother was on cryosleep.

I would play the game while my wife would be around and she'd always watch to see what happens and thanks to my surround amps she would go bonkers when the alien dropped out of one of those vent shafts xD

NOOOOOO! Why do I always have to defend Alien 3. It was a good damn film, having terrific atmosphere, wonderful human actors(by human actors I mean they have human flaws that make them well rounded characters), and the story was well done. Who gives a SHIT that it killed of Newt and Hicks, get over it, or isn't including any of the comic lore made between the creation of Aliens and Alien 3, it brought a good ending to Ripley character showing that no matter what she did, she was doomed to fight these creatures, so she took the Queen inside her to Hell with her. The Alien's design itself was unique in this film and the film brought back the feeling of horror back to the franchise that was found in the first film. Now I will not deny the terrible story of Alien Resurrection however. I could go into great detail why that film killed the franchise movie wise.

The ripley family. Just a bunch of space jill valentines and claire redfields with horror and greatness thrusted upon them....to hear that audio log again years after my first run of the game back on ps3 hit more like a freight train than any current modern game can. Im glad they got Sigourney to reprise the role she was the original jill valentine but in space. And even though Amanda died to cancer....her mom will never know how just as badass her daughter was or what she faced. Its a bittersweet ending for Amanda and ripley....though they never saw each other again they still held hope that one day they would see each other again. The scene in aliens with amanda cuts deep cause....they didnt get to see each other one last time before she passed away from cancer. Her memory and deeds live on like her mothers. Ripley would be proud if she knew what happened in Sevastopol.

This audio is played when Amanda boards the Anesidora, shortly before Marlow arrives with Taylor at gunpoint. The copy of the flight recorder that was brought to Sevastopol had its data secretly corrupted by Seegson Executive Ransome, who hacked it as part of an illicit scheme. Jethro Waits never found out that Ransome was behind it, as Waits was killed not long after the Working Joes were ordered to kill any remaining survivors.

Under Weyland-Yutani rules, the crew is woken up by the MOTHER computer system and goes down to investigate the planet, or lose all their wages if they fail to do so. 3 of the six crew members go onto the surface and discover an abandoned alien ship. They come across what appears to be some eggs - the most inquisitive man in the party looks into an egg and is instantly facehugged - an organism bursts through his spacesuit helmet and attaches itself to his face. (in one of the greatest moments in horror movie history) The two remaining crew members carry the stricken man back to the ship - Ellen Ripley quotes the Law that no contaminated persons be allowed onto the ship. The mysterious science officer, Ash, overrides her command and lets them onboard while the actual commander of the ship, Captain Dallas, just shrugs his shoulders. In the medical bay, the crew try to get the thing off his face - they prick one of the alien fingers ... acid leaks out and burns a hole in 3 decks of the ship! This isn't going to be easy ... However, after a while, the organism releases from the stricken man's face, withers and dies. He seems completely normal. But then ... over breakfast he starts choking uncontrollably... then a horrible rat-like Alien bursts out of his chest (another of the greatest moments in horror movie history) After giving him a suitable funeral, the remaining crew go after this pest with nets and a stun baton ... unaware that the life cycle of this thing will make it into a 7 foot tall Xenomorph in no time at all. One of the ship's mechanics goes looking for the little penis head - instead he finds the ship's cat, Jonesy, hissing uncontrollably. He sees why when he looks behind - the adult alien has camouflaged itself and silently descended from the ceiling - mechanic Brett becomes the first victim of the adult Alien. After much arguing and quarreling among the remaining members of the crew - it is decided that they will try to trap the organism in the vents (which they have correctly identified as its main pathway of travel) and lure it into the airlock before blasting it into outer space. Captain Dallas, feeling guilty for the deaths his crew have sustained so far, volunteers to lure the alien himself. However, the alien is smarter than anyone thinks - despite a makeshift motion tracker, the alien creeps up on Dallas unawares and kills him. Searching for answers, the exasperated Ellen Ripley goes to MOTHER the ship's computer. As she learns the terrifying truth that Weyland Yutani knew about the Alien all along, and that the crew were expendable in bringing it back to Earth, the ship's mysterious science officer, Ash, comes into the room. After a brief argument, Ash goes rogue - he turns out to be a corporate android with sexual designs on Ellen Ripley that it can't quite express without shoving a magazine down her throat. Helpless and beaten, Ellen is thankfully saved by Parker at the last moment - he knocks the android's head clean off its shoulders. The beaten android head lies on the table - Ellen asks it one last question: "how do we beat it?" "you can't - it is the perfect organism. Unclouded by conscience, remorse or delusions of morality. I can't lie to you about your chances - but you have my sympathies." Parker uses a makeshift flamethrower to torch Ash's head once and for all ... The last three survivors decide to take their chances in the Narcissus, the ship's shuttle. Lambert and Parker go looking for coolant while Ellen prepares the shuttle for launch. However, Lambert and Parker are confronted by the alien in the process and are brutally murdered in horrendous fashion ... Ellen is the only one left - she decides that this is so desperate that the ship's self-destruct system must be initiated. She sets it off, she has 10 minutes to get off the ship - the process is irreversible after 5 minutes. Unfortunately, her path to the shuttle is blocked by the alien - she needs more time and backtracks to the self-destruct equipment to reverse the process. Unluckily, she is seconds too late - with a hearty "MOTHER! YOU BITCH!" she runs through the corridors, picking up the cat (safely in its box) on the way. Only five minutes to get off the ship by a safe distance and evade the alien. As the timer counts down to zero, the shuttle escapes as the nuclear warheads explode on the Nostromo. .. but - we're not done yet ... The crafty alien boarded the Narcissus and is sleeping between some coolant pipes. The shocked Ellen Ripley, now in her underwear and ready for hypersleep, decides that she must get into a space suit to do what must be done. Terrified, she sings a song from "Singing in the Rain" - "You are my lucky star ..." ... she never gets past the first line, that's how terrified she is; "lucky star - lucky - lucky - lucky ..." As the alien is about to attack her, she hits the switch that blasts the door open - the alien is sucked into the doorway, clinging on with all its might. Ellen shoots the alien with a harpoon gun (mainly used for climbing up rocks) - the alien is blown out of the door and into the fiery blast from the ship's engines. Finally, Ellen delivers a "ship's log" about what has happened to her - then she and Jonesy go into hypersleep - expecting to be picked up in about 6 weeks (it would actually be 57 years!) __________________________ 15 years later, her daughter - Amanda Ripley, a 26-year-old space engineer working in the same region - is informed by a Weyland Yutani executive android that the Nostromo flight recorder has been found and is being stored on a decommisioned space station owned by a rival company called Seegson. She is given the option of tagging along and having some "closure" about what happened to her mother.... .. but that's another story...
