Alien Isolation (The Digital Movie)

Recently Alien Isolation was released as a Digital Series in Feb. 2019. This is a singular merging of all 7 episodes presented as a full-length movie. Edited seamlessly together by me. This movie takes place 15 years after the original Alien movie but before Aliens. It features a grown-up Amanda Ripley, the daughter of Ellen Ripley, the main character of Alien. Think of this movie as Alien 1.5, not exactly a direct sequel, but more of a side story, starring a new heroine character to the Alien franchise. It's up to you if you want to consider this canon or not, but the Amanda story doesn't have any major conflicting elements to the main films' canon history.

All things considered, this is pretty good. Somehow the creator of this video did a good job making this look as close as possible to a real movie rather than a collection of cutscenes spliced together.

Well, it r no cutscenes if he used the web series. But if that was done as anthology, it would seem een harder to do, i guess. Havren't watched/played either n actually only stumbled over it thx to call backs to some characters n events of it in colony war, which got me curious. I'll check it out after the game instead the series in it's real form, that perhaps afterwards depending on how i like it.

The only thing that's missing imo is the part with the big nest. Also the voice recording of Sigourney (Ellen Ripley) was distorted because of legal reasons i guess? I guess they would have to pay her if they used it again.

All things considered, this is an incredible job - aside from a few dodgy bits of synching mouth movements to voices, I could have bought that it was made as a show rather than being a series of cut scenes and (I guess? there's definitely stuff there I didn't see when I played Aliens: isolation) adapted gameplay footage from a game. I saw plenty of 00ies CGI shows that were far worse. It just goes to show the power of good editing.

@@anthonygregory6797 I kinda liked Prometheus actually. It's got problems for sure but it had some cool concepts. It set up a lot of potential to build on. I don't really consider it an Alien film even though it was like a reboot/prequel. It's not nearly as bad as Covenant. Covenant was not only a shitty Alien movie it was also a terrible follow up to Prometheus so it did damage on two fronts. It ruined the potential setup as an Alien prequel and took a big ole dump on what potential there was with Prometheus.

To where is Covenant gave us alien fans exactly what we wanted when it came to the Xenomorphs. Nobody like Covenant because of the acting I promise you that. It has to be said, the way he bodied the working joe in the hallway before interfacing with the mainframe was super impressive. A very rare alpha moment for Samuels which puts him in a threatening light for the first time. You still don't really know at that point whether he's a true friend or whether he's going to go batshit ash crazy on you, and watching him deal with that joe and knowing he could do that to you the moment he turns is a scarey thought. Fortunately he's right up there with Bishop in the good people stakes. It's a shame they both had to be offed since they were such good characters, but I guess the viewer has to lose something they care about along the way or there's no real threat going on.

Even if it takes those braindead morons in Hollywood another 20 years to have the idea, which is probably how long it would take the current crop to have any idea that isn't a remake. Someone please make this film. During my lifetime if possible. Make a movie people actually want to see for a change. In fact, do that, and then do the sequel for the video game. Only thing I hate about Alien videogames on PS4/PS5 is that the aliens dont have acid blood. Xenomorphs without acid blood are so much easier to defeat therefore less scarier than ones who have the traditional acid blood. This is what ultimately takes me out of the game, if it had that sense of realism I would say its a perfect game
