This is what I love about Isolation stuff like this Getting caught but then making it out at the last possible second is rare in this game. An that’s what makes each different play through great because how the Alien AI is made each time you play no matter how many times you’ve beaten Isolation it just feels so different… You can pull off the greatest escape and it’s unlikely you’ll be able to repeat it.

3 Second Rule. If a Xeno sees you it generally needs 3 seconds to identify you as a target. First second, the hiss. The sighting. Second second, processing. Third second, the screech & confirmation ! Now you die ! If you hear the hiss, MOVE IMMEDIATELY OUT OF ITS SIGHT EVEN IF YOU CAN'T SEE IT ! Hide & shut up. It will search, but won't find, if you're lucky. Don't run. If you hear the screech, all bets are off ! You better burn it ! My advice. Use it well. BURN IT CHILDS, BURN IT !!!

@@levitaggart5943 You can often survive the alien even if it sees you, if you can manage break the line of sight and hide after you aggro it; hard to pull off, but you can do it the easiest on the medical section, especially with the emergency override doors.

That's a good tactic, to move out under desk on opposite side if the alien decides to look under, then you pop back under desk once it stops looking under.

From what I heard the alien checks were you frequently hide. So always change what you do to hide.

Play it under a higher difficulty and evade it for successfully for a few chapters without using tools and you'd be surprised how well it hones in on your patterns

@@Dmooreslotreviews Adding into this, it gets "immune" to the flamethrower the more you use it to the Alien. In higher difficulty, it will literally just be fazed by the heat but will still go straight at you if you don't run away while it is stunned. tbf, you are pretty much dead once it spots you. Its rare to manage to run away from it which is why this video is already a feat. lol

You have to be in it's line of sight for a period of time. It hisses and growls when it sees you but as long as you get out of the way it won't attack. The time you can stay in it's line of sight depends on your difficulty level. It's to stop players from getting frustrated if they die from getting their foot seen for a millisecond for example

I've played through this game two and a half times and I had no idea it can actually check under the desks. Makes sense, but that has never happened to me.

What mode are you playing on? I think it's the hard mode when it starts to check under desks and beds. Because of the adaptive AI, if it catches you once under something, it will start to look under things more often. I haven't made it to hard mode yet, but I'm looking forward to it.
