Your reaction to "mother" getting shot in zero gravity is totally me waiting for the rest of the Stargate Universe reactions.

Ripley cryo-slept for 57 years. 57. That escape shuttle must have been loaded to the gills with cryo-fuel.

Broken record time; I've said before, I don't care, I'll say it again... there is commentary and then there's you. You just elevate it to something I-don't-know-what and it is just a privilege to sit back and get these postings from you.

Yep, it was confirmed that bandanna is the baby's dad, and also that he's the pregnant girl's cousin. If he wasn't bad enough already...

Last I heard, there is going to be a sequel. Ridley said he wants to finish David’s story so it’s possible the sequel will help tie those loose ends.

This movie _is_ a big hit, but that doesn't mean everyone likes it or should. I appreciate that Laura didn't just hop on the bandwagon and shared some valid criticisms instead. Besides, there are countless people who didn't feel like it lived up to the hype, and that's just fine.

Great react! Can you watch Pride and Prejudice (2005)? Maybe for Valentine’s Day, since it's a romance.

As much as I enjoyed this movie, I understand your criticism. It could have easily just been a standalone story unconnected to the first Alien and been fine plot wise. Also I'm a bit exhausted with nostalgia and call backs which have made more than a few movie sequels disappointing watches (looking at you Wolverine & Deadpool, Spiderman No Way Home, Ghostbusters Afterlife, the Flash), where the movies could have just stood on their own without rehashing old story beats and in some of the MCU examples I gave THE exact same character arcs. And the Ian Holm CG in the Rook android was so bad in some shots. It looked good in the shadows but up close with the light on it, damn. You could really see the uncanny valley of it all. Makes me wonder why they just didn't use an actual actor in prosthetics doing an Ian Holm impression of they wanted an android to be another Ash. It's a great Alien movie bogged down by too many callbacks and nostalgia that could have been an excellent movie had it been a standalone or beginning of a new series of movies. The building blocks are there. I'd like more Alien movies in the future like this one, without all the heavy-handed winks and nods to past material
