As always, 100% on point. I loved the look of this movie but the story felt cheapened by all the dumb callbacks to the original masterpieces. Like you said: I'd rather watch the original again. And again. and again.

Yes, that was stupid and let the film down, I thought Andy Android was the best actor in the film.

Seeing it tomorrow. Saw the original on opening day too in 1979. Very excited but I agree with you about writing. It is central to good story telling and a good movie. Still, on first view it looks gorgeous enough to be worth a watch. I'll just hedge my expectations. Thanks for the heads up

hey buddy... this isn't a behind the scenes video, this is a review video. Might want to change the title.

as for your spoiler, without saying to much for those reading, it makes sense to cast who they did as it follows the timeline. If they started putting people in places, out of timeline, then we would have a hot mess on our hands.

If the WY-Corporation has the choice to put anyone on that task, I would think of David, not the glitchy model. But it doesn’t matter anyway.

@@tylershannon6228 I don’t think any of the models get replaced. They kinda live forever

My first problem was, why is Absolutely nobody on the colony gives a damn about their working ship flying up without any clearance, and if it had anything, why everyone on the ship are kinda teenagers, without any kind of subordination. If they extended Rain contract, why is she even allowed to be out there, why noone from Weyland Corp gives a flying fk about anything happening on the orbit, etc

The whole resurrection of Ian Holm's face and voice felt a bit unnecessary and sloppy in the movie. I hope his family at least gets paid for it.. it was a terrible quality deepfake though, I've seen internet AI hobbyists do a better job. Great review though I agree with just about everything said here

It should be illegal to use someone's actual likeness without their permission. No doubt some small print in one of his past contracts lets them do whatever they want with his likeness and portrayal of the character.

Ok, this sounds like a fanfiction Alien themepark thing designed for the YA crowd. I'm out.

That is pretty much accurate. It was a hideous pile of shit writing with far too much art talent wasted on it.

Great review. Everything you said is also exactly how i felt coming out of the theatre. If i have an urge to watch an Alien movie, I will continue to re-watch the original masterpiece. It's time far better spent than on this flick. Plus, Sneakers is great.

sadly the trailers were pushing out so fast andwith so many details I knew it would suck. But those touches (adding ASH) are incredibly stupid...maybe once...but 5 times? And using the same lines? SAD. I liked using Ashes voice in the trailer but in the movie? DUMB
@Pilgrim_Rescued3 ай бұрын
Adding Ash was fun, but I agree - it looked awful and why keep bringing him back for more… still enjoyed the movie, especially the sets and “space” scenes; the music and sound were amazing; well worth seeing!
