Only time I truly got sick was when I drank unboiled water. I drank from a spigot that others were getting water from. A man nearby yelled NO WHY YOU DO THAT and I told him "it is okay i will die tonight" then he tried to give me money lol. 24 hours later I was in a tiny desert village to work with an all girls school. Had to walk out of a meeting with all the school officials. I thought I was just being a wuss, that I'd only left because I was bored and didn't want to be there. But no, my body knew what was happening before I did. I spent hours squatting in a shower that only had steaming hot water, just throwing up thru both ends. The village elders sent out for fresh papaya because I couldn't eat anything else. For two days I lay on a cot with a fan that only turned on 10 minutes every hour. I think the heat helped me kill the poo typhoid. I am strong like you now Btw I was very surprised at some of the items you found. I lived in India for 3 months, most of the food you got was normal and good like you said, but other things looked crazy. Maybe I forgot seeing street food like that because my brain blocked it out as a defense mechanism

The true answer is that most street vendors didn’t speak any English either. I am not a fan of Indian food in general. I have a weak stomach especially with diary. Indian food its too strong / heavy for me. Your brave to do this but by mind full Indian food can do a tres sisenta on you in a second. Never drink the local aqua , always get it bottled. Good luck. 😅 ( please try carribbean foods).
